Son-Shine Day Care

My daughter started daycare here a few months ago and she absolutely loves it. I love it too. She was talking a little bit before she started and now she talks a whole lot. She has learned a lot here. Ms. Carolyn is an awesome director and does a lot of different activities with her :) I love seeing all the different things she makes and brings home. We plan on being here for a very long time. Thank you Ms Carolyn for all you do !!!!

My daughter has been going here for 2 years now. Experience has always been pleasant. Karolyn will forever be with us. Thank you so much for the time, effort, and energy you have put into helping us care for our child. We love you with all our hearts 💕.

My son loves it here! Never had any issues. Since I put my son in this daycare his social skills & potty training has got 10x better. It’s not expensive either. I would definitely recommend! :) It’s 2025 - YEARS since my last review. Me and my son are having a conversation, I said “who is your favorite teacher?” He says “the one by your house”. We moved from Hagerstown YEARS ago so I couldn’t place who my son was talking about ! He says “Mrs. Karolyn” 😭 my son was young at the time so I didn’t even think he would remember her! She taught my son so much and we appreciate you Ms. Karolyn ! ❤️

My grandson Noah (age 2 1/2) attended Sonshine with Ms. Karolyn and absolutely loved going, loved her and all his little friends there. He no longer attends due to moving 2 hours away but he still, after many months, talks about “his school, Ms. Karolyn and friends”, almost daily. She potty trained him, something we were struggling with! Although the center may be a bit small, the level of teaching, care, love and one-on-one time with each child is in abundance! This level of care cannot have a price tag attached to it or found at any of the large, over populated, under staffed and over priced child care centers I’ve come across. Other reviews go on and on over parking, how petty! Yes, the other child care center does take up Ms. Karolyn’s space, leaving her parents in search of space directly in front of the building. However, there are two very large parking areas on the side of her building and just 20’ across the street. Actually, I’ve never once had to search or wait to park. Maybe had to walk a few feet but always had parking. Another review states Ms. Karolyn was rude and fraudulent! Absolutely unheard of and my belief is, if you are having a bad day you really should not write negative and detrimental reviews about someone just to calm yourself! I’ve spent hours on the phone and in person with her. She is kind and loving, generous and very open. I wish and pray for nothing but goodness for this woman and her business. She took wonderful care of my grandson and all the other little ones there. You would be very fortunate to be accepted here! AND, HER RATES ARE WONDERFUL AS WELL AS, I’VE HEARD SHE ACCEPTS VOUCHERS!!! Thank you Ms. Karolyn, May God bless you!

Son-Shine child care does accept child care vouchers. Parents remember the Department of DSS are the people who handle vouchers. If anyone is doing any thing wrong I'm sure they would know. I have vouchers and they have so many rules for the parent and provider and I can not wait to get off the voucher. Also if the parent has a co-pay remember that needs to be included in the total price. If you have problems talk to the provider. I had trouble finding someone to take vouchers not all providers take the vouchers. I have Son-shine child care and she explained everything to me. My children enjoy going to the day care and they have learned a lot. If I could afford to pay her for care - I would. I would pay more than what she is getting from DSS.
