What Parents Say
Snow Mountain Ranch YMCA is a recreational facility and event venue in Granby, Colorado, not a daycare center. Reviews praise the beautiful mountain setting, extensive activities for families and groups, friendly staff, and clean accommodations, though it appears better suited for family retreats, reunions, and weddings than childcare services.
We had a wonderful stay overall — the location is beautiful, the atmosphere is cozy, and most of the facilities were great for families. However, the pool policy was extremely disappointing and honestly upsetting. Requiring children up to 12 years old to wear arm floaties or life vests — regardless of their swimming ability — felt unreasonable. I saw multiple kids upset and embarrassed, including my own 7-year-old daughter, who didn’t even want to enter the pool because she felt uncomfortable wearing a life vest. Parents were present and actively supervising their children. This is a small indoor pool — not the open ocean. The lifeguards felt overly strict to the point where it created stress rather than safety. If the concern is for toddlers, perhaps create a separate area for ages 0–3, or reconsider the current policy. As it stands, the rule takes away from what should be a fun family experience. Everything else was lovely, but this policy seriously affected our stay.
Hello, if you are considering staying here, rethink your decision. Aside from the beautiful scenery that you could get at Devils Thumb Ranch, the man who greeted us treated me so rudely. When I called to see if we could get an early check-in, they said no and were difficult. However one person finally treated me kindly and helped us. This is so disappointing as I wanted this to be special for my family, but aside by being g treated rudely by this one man at the front desk, the room is horrible. Don’t stay here. Also heard that they treat their staff badly, from a source we heard from, which is very disappointing. I wish we could get a refund!
We weren't sure what to expect, but between the recreation center, the delicious breakfast buffet and the beautiful scenery, we'll definitely be back. The staff is young but super friendly and knowledgeable, the beds were soft and comfortable and the gorgeous property expands for miles. We came with our 6 and 13 year old boys, both of which really enjoyed themselves!
Me and my family of 6 had a wonderful stay at YMCA of the Rockies. The amenities were a little sparse but for the price it kind of hard to beat. We went in the fall and I can't say enough about how beautiful the location is. The amount of playgrounds and ease of access make the grounds very child friendly. The hiking trails are wonderful, nothing too extreme but difficult enough to feel a sense of accomplishment. Wildlife were abundant. I even had a harrowing experience encountering a ull moose while walking a trail in the morning. Overall great experience.
This was the venue of our dreams! We got married at Columbine Point on 9/28/2025 and had our reception at Legett. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect space. It was up in the mountains with amazing views & it was such a tranquil and serene place to celebrate our big day. Thousands of aspens were turning on the YMCA property @ the time of our wedding. Also - the venue coordinator (Stephanie) was so kind and responsive and helpful. She was wonderful to work with. 10/10 - Highly Recommend!
