Smart Start #6

Terrible school. Do not take your child here. I was always getting calls at work saying my child is hitting the teacher and I needed to pick him up because of his misbehavior. I walked in on several occasions where the teachers are yelling at the children in their faces. I pulled my child out after 2-3 months because he was acting out more and would cry when I take him to school saying he didn’t want to go. I don’t know what is up with this school and what they are doing but I DO NOT recommend. At his new school he is doing great has been there for 6 months and has no problems whatsoever. There is something wrong with this school.

My kids attended this daycare for about 2 months in the summer. At 1st I was really excited that it was a school setting. My kids seemed to like it. My daughter fell in love w Miss Whitney, she is by far an amazing teacher and my daughter loved to go to her class, she was heartbroken when I took them out. One day i go PU my kids, my son comes out of the second set of doors from the gym grabbing his face w an expression of excruciating pain, he can hardly cry or talk. I see the woman who is supposed to be taking care of them by the first set of doors. She just looks at him, gives me no explanation as to what happened. My daughter then comes out frantic saying they were trying to beat her brother up. Not one word from the lady. I have to go to the office and demand to know wth is going on. By this time my sons cheek is swelling up and a bruise is forming. My daughter has a red mark on her back. The Director is there she heads to the gym, I go meet her a few minutes later, she is talking to the woman In charge of taking care of the kids. She starts saying my kids started it and that one boy and my son are always into it and she's had to seperate them before. Not once was I informed of this. She says my son kicked the boy and his siblings got into it and that's what happened. There are no details besides that, she doesn't even tell me who punched my kid. I ask my kids what happened, both kids tell me the same story, the kid my son kicked was in his face w his fist up and threatening to hit him, therefore he kicked him. His siblings which are older start throwing basketballs at him, and other kids join in, somehow most of the kids are against my son and some girl punches him right on his cheek bone. Of course neither of the women know this because obviously the person in charge was not really watching them. I go in the next day to drop off my daughter, the Director is walking in, I try to tell her how I'm upset and that I'm more upset at the fact that her employee did not intervene when this was happening. Her excuse was :"maybe she was fed up" ..can you imagine that!! Why would you work at a daycare if you have no patience w kids or "she was afraid of getting hit" those were her excuses as to why my kids got hurt. I could not believe that's what she told me!! I told her I didn't feel my kids would be safe. She ended up telling me to have a good day and walked inside. I was livid, never in my life have I heard of such excuses!! I took my daughter out and asked for a refund since I had paid a week in advance. I took my kids to a different daycare and I've had no issues w my kids there. I have always told my son to stick up4 himself if someone is picking on him, but all this could've been avoided if the director had placed a responsible adult 2 watch the kids. The worst experience ever!

My son was going there over the summer before school started. There would be days that some members of the staff would be rude. The building is normally hot, and seems like there is not AC or they dont turn it on. The worst thing was that our son got locked in the bathroom and they forgot about him. If it wasn't for my wife coming to pick him up early to take him to his doctor appointment, they was about to leave to take all the other kids to go swimming, and our son would have been left alone there. It's was bad enough we had worry about him being in daycare with all the horror stories you hear, but only God know how long he was locked in the bathroom. Because the door jams and and was apparently broken for awhile, but they never got it fixed. It just bad that when my wife came to pick him up, they didnt know where he was, and another child said he was in the bathroom, and for the daycare work to be in shock that he was still in the bathroom.

The young lady H..S. who cares and sings for my grandson is the best. And Taylor the Director does a awesome job getting thing done. I TELL every stranger looking for a daycare to go there.

I love Smart Start 6. My son has learned and grown a lot since he's been there. They have real teachers and are great with the kids.
