What Parents Say
Shining Stars Learning Center receives overwhelmingly positive feedback, with most parents praising the caring and communicative staff who make children feel welcome and safe. One parent reported serious concerns including staff rudeness, cold food, favoritism toward coordinator's relatives, and a lice issue, which contrasts sharply with the majority of reviews.
My 2 boys have been attending shining star daycare since 2021!! This place has become family! My youngest is now 5 and is on to kindergarten and we miss seeing all the staff! Mrs Rhonda is just wonderful and always welcomes each child like they were her own. Ms Joy is the sweetest and is always communicative and understanding. Definitely will continue to spread the word on this wonderful facility! I never think twice when dropping off my children in their care!
My son loves it here the staff is so friendly and communicative they really care for my child, relieving me of my worries. I feel comfortable leaving my son in the staffs care.
Update still have not gotten in touch with Owner. The director has been made aware of issues and has done nothing to resolve them., When I first came here people would sign some documents or fill them out on my behalf. Worst part is they filled it out incorrectly and were misinformed so I was angry what the documents said were not true. Plus I didn't fill out like I am supposed to and who are they to sign or fill out anything on my behalf without my permission? If the info had been correct maybe I would've been okay with it. The director Joy has a very nasty attitude and is rude. She took my child out of her costumer on Halloween and did not provide me with a notice that costumes were not allowed. This rule is also not posted anywhere and they have no documentation. She also did it and said it with a nasty attitude after I left the daycare. The rules between staff and her seem to differ nobody ever knows the answer to anything. Nothing is consistent. The daycare workers are awesome and her mother is great but Joy is the problem. She is nasty rude and unprofessional. In March when I first came here I let the early Head Start program know about her attitude back then they claimed she would be provided training. That training did not work she still acts unprofessional and with a nasty attitude. When is it going to change? I have read other reviews about children not going to the bathroom because the staff wont take them or feed them. This is awful terrible management something needs to change
Very Rude Employee! Discrimination at its finest! If I can give zero stars I would. This establishment discriminated against my 4 year old who has a disability. I went looking for child care on 3/22/2023 I asked if they were accepting any children age 4. The employee stated yes, they have openings. The employee then proceeded to ask if my grandson was potty trained I told her no, he has a disability. Then the worker tells me they have no openings after she told me they did. I then told her again my grandson has a CP disability. The workers response was "well, we don't have any room in our 1 & 2 rooms. I looked at the worker and stated he's 4.. I had to hold my composure because my grandson was standing beside me. I looked at the worker and told her how dare she discriminate against my disabled grandson. As I was walking away she said something rude that I didn't catch, but her tone of voice said it all. I would expect this from children, but not an adult who works with children.
I thought this daycare was good in till my older children started going there. The teachers were very rude to the kids and wouldn't let them eat when the meals were in front of them in till everyone was quite. Their food was usually cold . They also gave special treatment to other children which were the coordinators nieces and nephews. for example on field trips the majority of the children signed up was the coordinators family. One time I saw one of the coordinators nieces slap another child and the grandmother who by the way is the coordinators assistant didn't say anything in till she noticed I witnessed it. My kids got lice because of this daycare. My children even told me they witness the office staff find lice on the Barbie dolls and they had to throw them away. I would not recommend this daycare to anyone. I gave them two stars because they were nice people.
