Shining Light Preschool

We've loved Shining Light Preschool.  Our oldest attended before he entered kindergarten, and we were excited to have our younger child attend this last year.  They grew academically and socially, and learned of God's love and that each one of us are God's treasures.  The curriculum included fun crafts while learning their letters, numbers, seasons and months. There are fun activities throughout the year for families, like an ice cream social at the start of the school year, a sweet Christmas pageant, and carnival at the end of the school year.  Things run so smoothly given the staff's organization and experience.  The teachers are all very experienced and great with the children. And the school's director, Ms. Kelly, is absolutely amazing.  She is so on top of what's going on in the school, seems to know every student, and family members' names and has a great sense of humor.  She leads chapel, which is a monthly presentation in the church, or the outdoor courtyard during the last 15 min of class where she teaches values in a very fun way, and the kids dance at the beginning and end to Power Shuffle. Parents and caregivers are welcome to attend chapel before pick-up.  I also enjoyed the co-op program; as a working parent, I was unsure at first about volunteering in class, but it ends up being about once a month, and I was able to arrange days off, or mornings off to volunteer.  It's so special for your child when you can volunteer in class; it makes them feel special, plus you get to meet their classmates and see what their school day is like. As the co-op you bring the day's snack, help the kids with a craft and anything else the teacher needs.  Our family is so grateful for Shining Light and for the wonderful experience and memories!

Shining Light Preschool has been such an amazing place to send our 3 children. The love and care received at SLP has been exceptional. Kelly (the director) takes time to know each and every child making it very easy to trust that my kids are in great care.

Shining Light Preschool is the best preschool in the Tri-Valley, if you’re looking for a safe, fun & warm environment to prepare your kids for elementary school! My girls loved it here, and I loved how attentive and kind the teachers are. We loved being in the classroom to co-op, and the lovely community of families! There’s nowhere else I would send my kids!

Shining Light Preschool holds such a special place in our hearts. My son Dominic attended for two wonderful years, and he absolutely loved every moment. The staff is truly the best — caring, attentive, and dedicated to each child's growth and happiness. I actually went to Shining Light myself as a child, so it means even more to know my own kids are receiving the same incredible care and foundation. We feel so fortunate to have a place where we know our children are safe, loved, and thriving. This fall, we’ll be sending our 2.5-year-old, and we couldn’t be more excited.
