What Parents Say
SF Tikes Academy is a Spanish immersion preschool in San Francisco's Mission district that parents consistently praise for its warm, supportive environment and well-prepared teaching staff. Parents report their children thrived academically and socially, with strong preparation for kindergarten and successful Spanish language acquisition. Leadership is described as communicative and responsive to health and safety concerns.
We chose this preschool after our neighbors recommended it, and right from the tour we knew it was something special. My son started when he was 2.5 and graduated at 4, and he absolutely thrived during his time there. The teachers are wonderful, and the Spanish immersion has been such a gift. I can see now how much it prepared him for TK, not just with learning but also with confidence and friendships. He especially loved show and tell, playing outside on the tricycles, and of course the friends he made. The school is very well organized and thoughtfully run, and our experience has been overwhelmingly positive. There’s no question that our daughter will be attending here too. I’d recommend this preschool to any family looking for a warm, supportive environment that really sets kids up for the future.
Our son attended SF Tikes for two years, and we couldn’t have asked for a better preschool experience. The teachers and leadership truly care about each child and made us feel supported every step of the way. When it was time for him to start public school (TK), he was not only excited but also one of the most well-prepared students in his class of 20. We feel confident sending our younger child here when the time comes, and we wholeheartedly recommend SF Tikes to other families!
We've been at SF Tikes for 9ish months now, and we couldn't be happier. Our son is now 3, and he's in his second classroom. Each classroom has at least 2 teachers and they've all been amazing. He is in the Spanish immersion classroom and can communicate with the teachers in Spanish (and our Spanish speaking friends) even though he only gets Spanish at school! Sarah is the head of school and she is amazing!!! Very communicative, friendly, helpful, and responsive. She is also on top of the recommendations from SFDPH and health advisories for air quality. On smoky days, they close the doors and run air purifiers so our kids can stay in school! This is a BIG deal, as most preschools close during fire season. The community is also very supporting. It's been harder w covid, but we are about to have a moms night out for our classroom. :)
Low key, local pre-school in the Mission.
Very happy with school and teachers.
