If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My children have been attending this center for the past two years. While my older child started in the school-age group and we didn’t have many issues there, our experience with my younger son has been deeply disappointing and concerning. He began in the 3’s classroom but was constantly shuffled between rooms and teachers due to staffing shortages. There was no consistency or stability, which is especially important at that age. My son is a very picky eater and typically only eats the food we pack for him. Out of nowhere, the center sent out an email stating that, due to government-funded meals, outside food would no longer be allowed and that children were required to eat the food provided by the center. I immediately expressed my concerns, explaining that my child could go hungry if forced to eat unfamiliar food. Despite that, I continued to pack his lunch just in case. One day, we received a notification via Procare stating, “Memphis ate none of the lunch.” I reached out right away and was told they could not give him the food we packed — meaning they knowingly let my son go without eating. This is unacceptable. After sending several emails and threatening to contact the funding agency myself, I received a phone call from Christin, who admitted she was wrong and that kids were actually allowed to bring their own food. Despite this, we gave the center another chance. Things appeared to improve for a short while when my son entered the Pre-K class, but soon after, he began receiving daily write-ups for behavioral issues — behaviors my husband and I had never witnessed at home. I voiced my concerns in multiple meetings and asked for him to be moved to another classroom. I was told the other rooms were full and that staff were working with him. It escalated to the point where I was being called to pick him up nearly once a week due to suspensions. Eventually, my son began opening up and told us that both classmates and a teacher had hit him. Naturally, I requested to view video footage. Instead of cooperation, I was given excuse after excuse as to why I couldn’t see the tapes. I reminded the staff that their own handbook requires them to report and investigate all allegations of abuse. After repeated emails and in-person conversations, Christin told me they would report it and that the office manager would review the footage. We ended up withdrawing our child from the center. For three weeks, I heard nothing — despite allowing ample time and following up with three additional emails. When I finally received a response, I was told that the video footage had been permanently deleted due to a system bug, and that footage beyond 7 days was no longer retrievable. I was also told this wasn’t their fault and that there was nothing they could do. No details were ever provided about whether any investigation took place, or if the staff involved were held accountable. Since switching daycares, my son’s behavior has significantly improved, and he’s much happier — which only confirms my suspicions that something was seriously wrong at the previous center. It is incredibly disappointing that a facility that claims to be faith-based would respond so poorly to allegations of harm, fail to communicate with concerned parents, and allow such serious matters to be swept under the rug. They did not protect my child, nor did they handle our concerns with the urgency and transparency they deserved. Please I urge you not to send your children here and if you have your children here I would take them out as soon as you can.

We are so blessed to have found this daycare. The staff is extremely friendly and warm--they make you feel like your child is a part of a family. The teachers update the app with your child's activities, feedings, bathroom breaks, etc. They also send cute pictures/videos to show you your kid's smiling face while you're away. My son is developing very well and learning new social skills :) 10 stars

I love Salem Fields. I have a 2.5 year old and 1 year old at the facility. Both of which have been there since they were approx 3 months old. The teachers are amazing with my kids, I get updates and pictures throughout the day through their app, and phone calls of anything I should know. Staff is super friendly. I also really love that they incorporate religion to our children. I'm really happy and would highly recommend!

The Salem Learning Center in Fredericksburg, VA has improved tremendously! My children are now in a safe and leaning educational center, not just in a babysitting setting. The current director and NEW personnel are very professional, fully qualified, who provide good examples and manners to the children. They are not over ratio any longer because the current teachers and staff knows and understand the local and federal regulations. The Salem Learning Center has now a true curriculum plan delivered by well educated and experienced teachers. My children love this place!! Of course, teachers who think this place was a babysitting setting refused to help improve the processes and decided to damage the learning center reputation. Now, I work in my job in peace each day while my children are in a safe and learning place. Highly recommend the Salem Learning Center!

My children were going here for almost a year. When I tell you they are very unprofessional my son had spoiled milk in his cup literally for 8 hours and they still had it reachable where other children can reach it which is very uncalled for. Instead of talking to me they decided to terminate my kids care due to me telling parents to be Cautious as a concerned parent should be. I also had to cut my sons hair off because he came in contact with someone with lice. Many parents have came up to me personally and complained as well there is no stability with teachers it’s like they all just move around.
