My husband and I visited last week, and we just wanted to share how wonderful the experience was. It’s been many decades since either of us attended a church, so we weren’t quite sure what to expect. From the moment we walked in, though, everyone was incredibly welcoming, warm, and genuine. There was such a sense of peace and community that really stood out to both of us. Pastor Joe was the one who first invited us, and we’re so grateful he did. He greeted us with kindness and made us feel completely at ease. What we appreciated most was that he gave us the freedom to just take everything in at our own pace. There was no pressure—just a sincere invitation to experience the service and the fellowship in whatever way felt comfortable to us. The worship was uplifting, the message was heartfelt and easy to connect with, and the atmosphere throughout the church felt full of love and authenticity. We left feeling refreshed and encouraged in a way we hadn’t felt in a very long time. We’re currently in the middle of remodeling our home, which is keeping us quite busy, but once that’s finished and we have more time to devote, we absolutely plan to return. We’re genuinely looking forward to becoming part of such a welcoming and spirit-filled community.
Beautiful stained glass windows. Clean areas and friendly people. Visit for the art, stay for the peace.
Beautiful Historical Church! Free tours with a docent throughout the summer. A church is open sign is often placed at the front entrance inviting everyone in to take a peak at a piece of not only Fredericksburg's but our nation's history!
The support and outreach around the community is unmatched. It's humbling to see such care and effort given to the undeserved. I have no religious affiliation but I'm proud to be a part of their mission.
St. George's is a place of love and acceptance of everyone. Period. No matter who you are, what you look like, who you love, or what you believe- you are welcome here. This church epitomizes the very simple concept that has stuck with me since childhood, "they'll know we are Christians by our love." You are welcome here. You are encouraged to ask questions and challenge yourself and your beliefs. You are accepted here. Your growth and well-being are fostered here. I love St. George's.
