What Parents Say
Saint Petersburg Christian Preschool receives mixed reviews with strong polarization between parents. Positive reviewers praise the teaching staff and their children's happiness, while negative reviewers report concerning discipline practices, poor administrative communication, misleading enrollment tactics, and staff behavior issues.
There are far better preschool options in the area. As another review noted, it is difficult to get in touch with administration-whether by email or phone-which I have also experienced. During pick up and drop offs, I noticed several red flags. While the building and classrooms may appear cute and inviting from the outside, not everything is as it seems inside. I understand that preschool teachers work under constant stress and pressure, but it is never acceptable to speak to a child in a negative way. Unfortunately, I have witnessed this here. Overall, the atmosphere is unwelcoming, with only a few exceptions among the staff. If you have the ability to explore other childcare options, I would strongly recommend doing so.
Original review: So excited for my child to start next month! Everyone here was so pleasant and friendly, very clean, organized environment. UPDATE: ⭐☆☆☆☆ — Extremely disappointed in how this turned out. I had hoped to enroll my daughter at St. Pete Christian Preschool because of its Christian values. Instead, I experienced misleading enrollment practices and a lack of empathy. I was told there was only one VPK spot left and was pressured to pay a $185 registration fee immediately. I was also misinformed about needing a local pediatrician—which added stress and urgency. I later found out this wasn’t required. I paid the fee, trusting the information I was given, only to find out later (in an email after paying) that it was nonrefundable. My child never even attended the school. As a single mother who just moved to the area, I tried to work with the school to resolve the issue respectfully, but my request was denied and passed to a “board” that only meets once a month. This school may speak about Christian values, but I saw none reflected in how this situation was handled. It felt transactional, not compassionate. Please be cautious and get everything in writing before making a decision.
My son loves going to school thanks to his wonderful teacher and the great staff here. I was really worried that he would have a hard time being away from me, but he comes home everyday talking about all the fun he had. So thankful his first experience with school was so positive!
Pulling my child out of this facility after I have found out that they are calling the time out area jail. There are a long list of items that I find disturbing, but that is the most to me. I noticed a decline in the last 6 months after a few teachers were let go. The world needs compassionate teachers that are caring and patient. Not this type of treatment here.
Called multiple times and left several voicemails with no call back to inquire about a waitlist, wanting to visit, etc. My friend(whose child goes here) gave me the assistant director’s email address, so I emailed her. She responded one week later saying she was on vacation(does their email service not provide out of office option?), I responded and then never heard back. I called and left a voicemail after not receiving an email reply and never heard back.
