My son went has gone to RCD for two years and we have been so happy with the school and his progress. The teachers are kind, thoughtful, and very knowledgeable about child development. We feel so lucky that our son is in such a nurturing environment where he can grown socially, emotionally, and academically. My son is a September birthday and we want to give him another year before Kindergarten and RCD offered an amazing solution. Children can attend the KinderOwl program to help ease the transition. This is an amazing opportunity and we look forward to being part of the community another year.
I can't say enough about RCD! As a parent dropping your child off to be looked after, cared for and educated by someone else is tough. I have never once been worried or concerned. My son is finishing his second year and I couldn't imagine him going anywhere else. Neither could he! ;) He loves his teachers who truly love him and have his best interests at heart preparing him for kindergarten. This place has huge heart and deserves all 5 stars!
As a mom with an education background, I was hesitant to start my older daughter in an EC program, but still observed and toured all the preschools in the area "just in case". When I toured RCD, I could see my daughter there immediately. Their child centered programs are research-based and developmentally appropriate, and the teachers are experienced, professional and LOVE what they do. It's become a home away from home for my shy, reserved daughter who goes for two mornings a week. Her teachers know her well and she has flourished this year!
I can't say enough wonderful things about Rye Country Day. My daughter has enjoyed her first year immensely. Her teachers have been nothing short of amazing, I understand why she loves going and spending time learning and interacting in such a warm and fun environment. RCD has been a great start to her childhood education.
We have had three children attend RCD preschool through the kindergarten program. Every experience with each teacher has been positive and fostered our children's social and academic development. We have a child with special needs and the staff went above and beyond allowing our kiddo to attend with a classroom aide and even attended. IEP meetings for our child. The staff and experiences for all 3 kids have been second to none.
