What Parents Say
Rainbow Village is a transitional housing and life skills program (not a traditional daycare) that has received mixed reviews. While many praise the organization's mission and staff dedication for helping families achieve homeownership and stability, several recent reviews criticize specific staff members for unprofessional conduct, lack of support, and alleged discrimination based on medical conditions.
Amazing place and they offer help for single mothers as well as families. Pros are that they offer assistance for up to a year and get donations quite often, but the cons are that after you graduate the program your alumni status is really shaky and the staff that are hired could possibly make gaining stability a bit harder instead of easier based on their unnecessary attitudes and lack of understanding at times. Not all staff, of course. A super huge blessing though for many families
Do not share any medical information with the staff! They will deny you! I was open about having epilepsy, my son and I both have it. I was denied because of this. I went through the whole interview process, yes I have a job, yes I have reliable transportation, yes I indeed qualified. But because I have epilepsy, nothing I have control over my family was denied. Keep all medical information to yourself. You are not obligated to disclose this personal information. When asked be sure to tell them you have no medical issues. Absolutely pathetic excuse to deny a family.
Rainbow Village is an amazing organization that provides transitional housing for the families they serve, there are also different life skills through the program that are designed to change the different situations that brought these families to the program. I've first hand seen families go from transitional housing to home ownership. Dedicated staff to the mission.
Amazing organization that helps those who have hit tough times but want to better their lives and future. They provide temporary assistance for those who will commit to learning life skills and work hard to maintain beneficial employment. Not a program designed to keep people on long-term assistance. It seems some prior reviewers don't like to receive honest feedback.
The person who is supposed to help you is totally unprofessional. She calls me and she asked me why I needed help. I explained my situation to her & then she basically accused me of not wanting to better my life. She obviously doesn't know the life of being a single mother in a state with no family. She didn't believe that I couldn't find a job that'll hire me 9-5 Monday-friday besides the one I currently have. Then she continued to say that I wouldn't be able to afford the apartment because I would be able to get 1000 for downpayment and 450 a month for rent Never once did she try to send me job referral or a job program. Most insensitive unhelpful person I've ever had to deal with. Your supposed to help me become better not break me down & tell me what I'm incapable of doing.
