What Parents Say
Princeton Childrens Center receives highly polarized reviews. Positive reviews praise attentive staff, clean facilities, good communication, and well-cared-for children. Negative reviews cite significant concerns including staff unprofessionalism, safety issues, high turnover, poor management, and incidents of neglect.
When we first started taking my daughter to Princeton, it was great. She had the same two teachers all day, made friends, and received good meals. After not quite a year, they lost multiple employees and new employees did not appear to be able to interact with children. One woman refused to smile or acknowledge parents at pick-up time. Multiple illnesses spread through the daycare. Finally one day we were told we needed to come get our daughter because she was crying. No. They had the children playing outside during a heat advisory, then refused to give them water. This place needs shut down.
It’s such a challenge to find quality childcare in Lawrence. We have found the staff and environment at PCC to be absolutely wonderful. We have two small children and have had a great experience. As hard as it is to leave the babies, I know they are so well cared for and adored by their teachers. We are so grateful to have all of the staff and teachers in this community. They have a great APP and communicate well and often. I really can’t say enough about how quality the teachers are, they truly care for the kids.
We were at Princeton for 6 years across two kids. There are a few great teachers left, but most there don’t even seem interested in interacting with the kids. We left after my youngest was left behind in the lobby by her teacher while the class was coming in from recess. I’d look elsewhere for childcare.
We removed our child 2 weeks after he started in 2019. I wrote a review before but realized it was removed. When I picked him up on what ended up being his last day, he was sitting in a stroller in the hallway directly between two teachers who were having a very heated discussion. One teacher was accusing the other of her children not being smart and essentially calling her a bad teacher. My concern was that they were both angry and emotional/yelling in the hallway with my son sitting between them. If one got angry and lunged at the other, my son would have been in the crossfire. Not to mention when I was there to pick him up they didn't even acknowledge that I was there. I took him out of the stroller, grabbed his things, and left. Everything else aside, I was able to just take him and leave which means anyone could have taken him and left.
Management in charge is unprofessional. Kicked my two boys out with no notice. Didn't even bother to call to inform me that they were on their last straw. Sent an email saying that they were being disenrolled immediately. Stating that if I wanted to talk more about it I could speak to management in 2 weeks. They don't even bother to answer their phone. Cowardice!
