One word encapsulates my experience: excellence! From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Choosing early childhood education is a crucial decision, and it’s abundantly clear that here, the care, education, and well-being of the children are the top priorities. With a diverse array of safety protocols, thoughtfully designed educational programs, and a truly enchanting environment, it’s evident that the children’s welfare is at the core of everything they do. The staff and owners embody kindness and warmth; they are not only knowledgeable but also attuned to the needs of today’s families. This place truly shines as a beacon of quality in early childhood education!

This rating does not reflect the front desk staff or the wonderful teachers who cared for my son. The one-star review is solely due to safety and transparency concerns, specifically the owner’s unwillingness to make reasonable safety improvements despite multiple incidents. In December 2023, my son fell into a fence on the playground and sustained a severe injury to his forehead. This resulted in an expensive and traumatic emergency room visit, two layers of stitches (13 total), and a permanent scar. Responsibility was placed on teachers for failing to enforce “no-run zones.” This is unreasonable; the playground is small, and children need to run. I do not fault the teachers in any way. Before making the difficult decision to remove our son, we attempted to work collaboratively with the owners to improve safety. We suggested modest, common-sense measures, including padding rough stone edges. Once the state investigated and determined the playground was technically compliant with regulations, it became clear the owners were unwilling to take any additional steps. We were explicitly told, “You have a choice where to send your son to school.” Since that incident, I have learned of several other playground injuries, including at least one other child who, like my son, was left with a permanent scar. Hence, this prompted my review, and it is my hope that this review helps caregivers make informed choices. I also want to note transparency issues that further eroded trust. When communicable illnesses occurred, communication was often limited to paper signs posted near classrooms; many parents missed them. The ProCare app, designed for timely communication, was not used. This was particularly frustrating during a lice outbreak. (Lice happens; I do not blame the school for that.) However, most parents learned about it through informal parent text chains rather than official communication. Thus, when deciding where to send your child to school, I would be sure to note the playground's size, stone edges, and lack of padding. I would also ask about the owners' resistance to implementing preventive measures after serious injuries occurred.

We truly love the Westlake at Entrada Primrose location. When we were originally looking for a daycare for our daughter, we were drawn here because they seemed organized and not chaotic (unlike some places we visited). We also liked that the owners are involved and work to be onsite daily. Our daughter has attended this location for two years now (since she was 4 months old). Going to Primrose has never been a fight with her; she truly loves it! Lots of fun activities are planned throughout the day and she truly enjoys learning because they make it so engaging. We also love all of the teachers. It takes a special person to take care of and teach kids all day and the administrative staff at this location has done a great job recruiting the right employees. Yes, some of the assistant teachers occasionally turnover however you don’t experience that with the “lead” teachers which tells me they do a great job of taking care of their people. (I also think it is important to note that turnover happens pretty much everywhere; we have been impressed with how little of turnover has occurred here.) We are excited for our son to start here when he arrives later this year. We truly can’t imagine any other place or people helping us raise our kids. Primrose School of Westlake at Entrada has been a blessing for our family!

We have been blown away with Primrose Westlake in their flexibility to allow us to walk into the classroom and pick up my child rather than wait at the front. I love being able to see my child within the classroom setting and their interactions. The staff is always so complimentary and informative each day. The updates within the app are extremely helpful to know what food my child likes and if they had a good nap duration. The facility cleanliness, the type of toys, just everything is top notch. The cherry on top is the amount of knowledge I have seen my child gain over just two months. We LOVE Primrose Westlake!
