We came here via recommendation of a friend and I feel like we are relatively happy here, it feels safe, and I think the teachers do well, my knock of two stars is that the communication is not great. It’s difficult to hear back from admin, and since we are required to do carpool, and (our child needs aftercare) pick up is not with their teacher, we rarely get face-to-face with the teacher. As a parent of a child who seems to be having a difficult time, this is hard for me. A few times now, the teacher has asked if I received her message, and I never see them. From what I can tell, admin has to approve messages via the app (Procare). That’s fine and all, but I could share a screenshot of 5 messages from me-to-teacher in a row and have gotten 0 responses. When I question this, the teacher says “didn’t you get my response?” No. I did not. My daughter, at a different school, also uses Procare and the communication via the app is much more fluid. The teacher’s respond, and the admin throws in their messages when they need to. I feel completely in the dark about being able to get in touch with my son’s teacher. I only do drop off (carpool). I would really appreciate more opportunity to be able to communicate with the teachers via the app. Tbh, using Procare at your facility feels useless other than secure check-in/check-out. Please give your teachers the freedom to communicate with the parents. Additionally, communication overall isn’t great. Ex: For picture day, there was ONE reminder, via email, the Thursday before. Picture day was Tuesday? (Yes this is on me, a bit), but I completely forgot and didn't dress him up. Where was a paper reminder? A Procare reminder? A sticker on their back the day before picture day. A reminder the night before. I guess the above questions are levels of communications we have received in the past and at different schools (daughter’s too). Grandparents breakfast? An email the night before, 7pm. And what is this calendar with every day being a thing? I don’t even understand half of them or what they are, and there’s no explanation for half of them. (Some are obvious— and we try), but honestly, it seems excessive and a lot on the school and teachers (which is probably why it’s not super promoted— at least on our end, but then again, communication isn’t great.) I just want better communication. Better opportunity to talk with teachers. Better use of the secure app, Procare. Happy with the facility. (I think), I feel confidence in the care my child receives. This is just such an important time of development for our child, and I would appreciate better communication, overall.
So far, we’ve had a positive experience with Parker Chase. My daughter is speech delayed and has autism, and while her first week was challenging, I met with her teachers to discuss her behavioral concerns and the fact that she wasn’t eating during the day. Together, we came up with a plan. Fast forward two weeks, and she has started to adjust—she enjoys going to school, and her teachers have been wonderful in helping her feel included. I truly appreciate their support, and I’m glad we chose Parker Chase.
My son started with just the two day program and within a month moved to the three days because he started THRIVING! I would call my kid spirited and never afraid to make a friend but the loving family of Parker Chase has taught our little guy how friends work, how to be kind, and how to be a good friend to others who might need a little help. He has quite literally broken milestones we had been a little concerned about in what seems like no time. Their approach to the childhood education experience is one that speaks to kids of all backgrounds, experience levels, and comfortability. We hope to move our son through every grade level (care-prek) at this school because to us it has become a second home and one we couldn’t be more grateful for. When you’re seeking more than daycare or a sitter, Parker Chase West Oak will be the family you’re looking for! From your tour to the hardest of days - the incredible staff will support you and your child so that your child will become like mine and literally drag you to the door begging to go to school on a Saturday morning (and we’re only six months in!).
The staff! From the moment you walk in all the way to your classroom, everyone on staff is so helpful and friendly. The ladies at the front desk and the chef always say hi and make conversation, no matter how busy they are. My daughter’s teachers are exceptional! They’re so kind and have been so accommodating to us. It has been a difficult transition for my daughter and I but everyone at the school made us feel so welcome and at home. My daughter’s academics have improved so much as well as her social skills while being here. I love that the school has cameras and sends photos, as a full time working mom it’s hard to be away from my daughter so much but this puts me at ease knowing I can check in and make sure she’s ok. I highly recommend this school! I wish we had longer here but off to kindergarten!
Everything about this place is great! The teachers are amazing, and the staff is just as wonderful. My son initially attended a different school, but within a week, he lost interest and would cry every day going to and coming from school. However, at Parker Chase, he started enjoying school, his teachers, and his routine within just 3-4 days. The care he received made all the difference. Now, every morning, he goes in smiling and comes back the same way. We receive regular updates on his meals, activities, and progress. We’re so grateful that he was able to attend Parker Chase at West Oaks for his Pre-K.
