What Parents Say
Pomeroy Recreation & Rehabilitation Center is highly praised for its swim lesson programs, with parents noting significant progress in their children's swimming skills within months. The facility offers a warm saltwater pool (92 degrees), friendly and attentive staff, spacious venue for events, and serves multiple community programs including special needs day programs and senior activities.
This super heated pool is my saviour! If I have to exercise, & I do, let it be in a 92 degree pool for 2 hrs. They also have year-round themed activities and large spaces to rent out for your events now that the center is Under New Management & it's great cuz there's tons of free parking! the fundraisers are also a lot of fun and the prizes are getting better!! Both The pool & general staff are really cool too!! Of course there is an abundance of ADA parking on various sides of the building!! Truly a hidden treasure of San Francisco tucked away behind the zoo and across the road from Lake Merced.
We have been coming for the last three months to the swim lessons for cuttlefish group and it’s so adorable. I like this place a lot. Teachers are so nice and loving. People are friendly and attentive, the salt water pool is awesome, it’s very warm, I believe 92 degrees and the changing room is nice too. A bit crowded after lessons but we make it work. I like the big groups and the class in general. I recommend it for sure <3
The recreation center has an affordable event space for rent, it can accommodate about 250 ppl. There is plenty of parking behind the center with the Lake Merced facing the street and The San Francisco Zoo at the back of the structure.
Pomeroy is a great center for people to come together and learn, explore, travel and be their best creative selves. I had a wonderful time visiting, recently attending a Bingo and silent art auction event held by the center.
This is a great spot to swim with your family if you like warm water. We are enrolled in recreational swimming with my kiddos...they love it! There r toys and the pool has shallow as well as a deep end. The only cons are that it gets crowded at certain times and they do swim classes during open swim- cuts down even more space to swim 🙁. I think it is also a little tough to get into the weekend time slots.
