Play & Learn Preschool & Childcare

I was the first full time child at play and learn and that was 42 years ago. The daycare is still in business because the people of the community love Ellen and her husband Herman before he passed. I sent my own children to play and learn as have many other previous play and learn kids. It continues on through generations. Their staff is wonderful with the kids and some of them work there just to send their kids there! There will always be someone who has a complaint about everything based on their situation but this daycare has been well used because the kids play hard, learn hard and love hard!

I can't say enough great things about my experience with Play and Learn. The staff was kind, helpful, and truly cared for my kids. I have an extremely difficult co-parenting situation and the owner went above and beyond to deal with that appropriately and with discretion in order to put my kids and their well being first. She was truly an angel and always advocated for my children. My son was prepared for Kindergarten thanks to the staff at this facility. He is thriving and I can't thank them enough for giving him such a great foundation to use in his first year at school. I recommend them highly.

Play and Learn has been part of Solon's landscape and housed in the same location for many generations. Each child is seen as an individual but all are taught to help pick up their messes and put things away when they finish with them and many other values that will serve them well as they continue to grow older. Play and Learn has been teaching preschool for many years and continues to be up-to-date with the needs of the children who attend today. Those who attended as children are now bringing their own children here because they know they will be well cared for and prepared for school at Lakeview Elementary. The workers are wonderful with the kids whether it's teaching, settling squabbles or giving hugs when something has gone wrong in the little ones' worlds. My grandsons attend there - one in preschool and one in the before and after school programs and summer program and both love it! When I drop them off they are jumping out of the car and running inside to get to see their friends! There is pride on their faces about all the things they do, make, color and/or complete to bring home to their mom. The youngest has learned so much and will continue to do so in his final year there prior to kindergarten. The owner, Lisa, loves and interacts with all the kids like they are each her own grandchildren. She is hands on, patient and encouraging. Solon is fortunate to have this family owned and run day care and preschool continuing to teach our next generations!

Very disappointed with my experience with this facility. Before my children attended here we had wonder experiences with other daycares and preschools. There are better options. I have had issues with trust in staff as well as having to report them. Which was found to be in non compliance. I don't have a choice in my children attending here but I can warn others.
