Pines West Academy

Pines West Academy is an incredible preschool, and I truly cannot say enough great things about them. Our family has been part of the PWA family since 2022, when our now four-year-old daughter first started attending. Now my son has joined, and we’ve continued to have nothing but the best experience. Ms. Terri, the director, is absolutely amazing. She is so personable and genuinely cares about the children. She knows every child by name, which says so much about the environment she creates. Ms. Marella, her second in command, is just as wonderful, and together they make PWA feel like a true family, not just a school. Ms. Flo and Ms. Lisa are also amazing!! The VESS curriculum is so enriching, and I love the thoughtful ways they challenge the children academically while still keeping learning fun and engaging. You can truly see how much effort and care goes into helping each child grow, learn, and feel confident every day. We are so grateful to be part of Pines West Academy and couldn’t imagine a better preschool experience. Highly recommend this school!

We’ve had a great experience at Pines West Academy. Our 3-year-old loves going to school, which says a lot. The VESS curriculum has been a huge plus. We’ve seen so much growth in confidence, independence, and communication, not just academics. The teachers are kind, patient, and clearly care about the kids. Communication has been solid, and we always feel in the loop. The environment feels safe, engaging, and well structured for this age. We’re really happy with our choice and would definitely recommend Pines West Academy to other parents.

Teachers are caring, attentive, and genuinely invested in the children. The environment is safe and welcoming, with clear and consistent communication for parents. The educational activities are engaging and encourage children to learn in a fun and supportive way. It’s comforting to know our child is in such good hands. Special mention to Ms. Teri, the Director, who goes above and beyond, and to Ms. Lisa for comforting our daughter and helping her adjust seamlessly during her first class.

We have had such a wonderful experience with PWA free vpk program. My daughter was not excited about starting school at first (she had always stayed at home with me so this was a big change for all of us), but after our tour she couldn’t stop talking about it and even asked to go back—that alone spoke volumes. Her teacher has been absolutely amazing and has helped her learn so many new things. They are very hands on and do many sensory activities with play-doh, sand, dirt, ice, shaving cream, etc. The office staff is just as wonderful: always kind, helpful, and welcoming. I also truly appreciate how open and accessible the school is to parents. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing my child is in such a caring, supportive environment. We are very grateful to be part of this school. Also worth noting it is the ONLY school I found that has an afternoon VPK session which worked better for our family and allowed for slower mornings at home while my 4 year old adjusts.

I appreciate that you focus on in-vivo, hands-on experiences and allow children to learn naturally through play, exploration, and real-life moments rather than relying solely on traditional, rigid instruction. It’s clear that the staff genuinely cares about nurturing the whole child, supporting language, social skills, creativity, problem-solving, and independence through activities that feel meaningful and engaging to the children. My son comes home excited, confident, and proud of what he learned each day, and that speaks volumes about the environment you’ve created. Thank you for providing a space where learning is fun, developmentally appropriate, and tailored to how young children truly thrive. We feel very fortunate to be part of a school that values experiential learning, curiosity, and growth just as much as academic readiness.
