My child moved from another PCA to this location. All I can say is wow!!! The culture and feel you get from the staff at Union Hills is outstanding. You walk in and feel this light, airy good vibe. The teachers are engaged and keep you in the loop all the time. Not only do the regular classroom teachers make you feel like your kiddo is their only student, you get that same care and kindness from the teachers at the end of the day when classrooms combine. Everyone keeps us informed- even the little things. I am amazed at the details they share with me as a parent. I always walk away knowing my child is safe and in a great learning environment. We went from my child stressing out and crying on the way to school, to a child who openly tells me about her day in a happy manner. She learns things that we can replicate at home too! "You get what you get, and we don't throw a fit!" (This is a good thing. She genuinely has learned to show appreciation. It has come in handy several times when we try to show how to best accept gifts from others and to not be too picky.) She has grown with her compassion, empathy, and desire to learn new things. She has even learned some Spanish! I especially love K-Club: the Fridays club geared to prep my child for Kindergarden. She gets fun homework to do with the family on the weekends (nothing too tough at all) so that we can bond over learning. It really has gotten her excited for the next step on her education journey! Great team and I am thankful everyday to have them in my child's corner.
I want to give a huge shoutout to Phoenix Children’s Academy on 83rd Ave in Peoria for truly stepping up in a big way. I had some concerns and shared them online and yes, it made its way back to them (the power of social media!). But here’s the part that matters: instead of ignoring it, they handled it with professionalism and genuine care ASAP. They reached out to set up a meeting with me (which I unfortunately missed in my email because I was out). The moment I walked in, they asked if we could talk. I had a feeling it was about my post, so I asked, “Is this about Facebook?” and they said yes. Not only did they acknowledge it right away, but they were sincerely sorry and wanted to understand my concerns and find solutions. They had already reviewed camera footage from the time in question, spoken with the teachers, and came prepared to address everything with me. Before enrolling Kendrix, I did my homework interviewing multiple centers, making unannounced visits, and checking reviews. Phoenix Children’s Academy was the only one that checked all my boxes and made me feel safe leaving my son there. After my post, people recommended other centers, but none of them felt right whether it was the reviews, the location, or even how my calls were handled. It means a lot when a company not only reaches out after an issue but shows they truly care and take action. That’s rare, and I’m grateful.
It has been challenging to find a childcare facility that delivers what is promised. We are so grateful for PCA and the environment that their director, Melissa, is working so hard to create. The teachers have proven themselves to be engaged and trustworthy and they even offer childcare during school breaks for older siblings.
This is such an incredible school. My son and I moved back home to AZ while my husband was forward deployed for 18 months. The initial daycare I enrolled him in did not support his development in a positive way, especially when it came to potty training. My son does have a speech delay, and they did not make efforts to work with him or me. Moving my son to Phoenix Children’s Academy was the best thing to happen for us. The staff is absolutely incredible and engaged. My son’s first two weeks were difficult, due to the change of structure from his previous experience, but the staff worked with us to get him through that transition. They communicated concerns with sensitivity and compassion, and I felt like we were a team in caring for my son. Within the four months he was there, his speech improved, as did his social and listening skills. Beyond that, he’s now completely potty trained (we drove to Florida and he didn’t have a single accident)! I could type out instance after instance as to why this school is so amazing. I am endlessly grateful to them. It’s going to be a challenge to find a school out here that even compares.
My 2 year old loves this place. The staff and Director Candace are all very kind and helpful. You can feel that they truly love their jobs and being with the kids. My daughter is not the easiest to handle and they have helped her improve so much. I don't even live close by, but I feel reassured that my baby girl is safe and happy so I continue to make the drive. It is not easy leaving your precious littles with just anyone, I've found a good trustworthy daycare here and I don't see myself talking my daughter anywhere else.
