I cannot believe how horrible this place turned out to be. We were loving our membership and our kids had fun at the kid zone while we worked out. Then the beginning of this month we went to pick up our kids and one of the staff members looked pissed. We said hi and he said out three year old needs to work on sharing….yeah, he’s 3, why are you so mad about it? So after getting our kids in the car my husband went back in to ask him what happened. He said that when he tells our son what to do from across the room he doesn’t listen so he has to get louder and louder. So not only was he mad at our 3 year old for not listening to basically a stranger, but he was yelling at him. My husband thought they had a good conversation so we tried again the next day. He never came out and talked to us but he did stare us down when we went to pick our kids up and he still looked pissed. We decided then that we can’t come back. The next day I called the child care supervisor and she said she would talk to him. I asked for a refund for February since this happened on the first of the month and she said they don’t give refunds. She asked me what they can do to stop us from canceling and I said nothing because we do not feel safe leaving our kids there anymore and we cannot use the gym without the childcare. Since we just paid for a service they can no longer provide us I called her boss to explain the situation and try to get a refund again. The woman immediately got attitude with me saying they don’t give refunds and she heard about the situation and our stories don’t match but she was also still trying to get us not to cancel. I told her the only way we would go back is if he wasn’t there so we won’t be back. She took that as me asking her to fire him and got mad. She kept saying our stories just didn’t match and she’s not firing him because he’s their best employee. I asked her what he said and she told me that was confidential. I asked her how that’s fair when he knows our side. She said she kept it confidential but how would he know who they are asking him about and be able to give a factual argument if they didn’t tell him who it was? After breaking down in tears for her basically calling me a liar when I’m just making sure my kids are safe I have up with her. My husband emailed the director to try and set up and in person meeting about how my children and I have been treated by staff on all levels and he never responded. I am sickened by this whole situation. We also just started going to a new gym and we asked my son how he liked the kids area. He said he liked it because nobody yelled at him.
Great place in general till you call the customer service to cancel your membership. Called the team to cancel my membership 2 months ago, and team said it has been canceled. Interesting enough, they still keep charging 2 months. That is fine in fact, sometimes things happened that way. Should we just cancel the membership now and reverse the charges. Is that simple? However, when you call the team again, the person answered your phone start to ask who did you talk to 2 months ago? (who gone remember that?!), and push the responsibility to the director. OK... Then I start to think that I need to keep some good records for the future just in case YMCA is handling case in another fashion, so ask them to send me an email to record what will happen. Then I get the response that YMCA team cannot send the email while they are answering the phone. OK, then I said I can be on hold till they are done. Unfortunately, that is also not OK. Then I asked can I know the team member name since today YMCA team asked me the person's name who answered the phone 2 month ago. Then I was rejected neither.... Wow! That is what you got from customer service from YMCA.
This place is great everything is new and nice. Staff is very nice. However, it is way too crowded and kids room is a ridiculous wait. Often 10+ people in line to check their kids in or pick up one at a time takes half an hour just to drop your kid in. Will be closing my membership
Had a tour and joined. Very large. Three pools, sauna and whirlpool. Large indoor track. Was very crowded. Family oriented. People of all ages, gender and ethnic groups seen attending
Great gym, lots of equipment, super clean, locker rooms are always clean, staff is super friendly & helpful. Way too strict on their guest policy. Pay $75 a month for a membership - you can only bring a guest M-F 5am-4pm & Sat/Sun 7am-12pm… not friendly hours for people who work & you also can’t bring the same guest more than 3 times a year.. I understand not wanting to overcrowd the gym with too many guests but this rule is too strict imo for a $75 membership. Courts are first come first serve - but theres always the same groups of men taking over the courts which doesn’t allow space or time for others who want to play/use the court. Other than that, love this gym.
