Not a very welcoming gym if you are a young woman trying to learn how to lift weights. I've encountered hostility and judgement from the old men at this gym on multiple different occasions I've worked out. I work out almost daily at my college gym and never experience trouble. Yet every time I come home to workout I feel belittled, and uncomfortable. If you are a young woman I suggest going somewhere else with a younger crowd. There are other things I love about the JCC, as I have grown up attending various programs, as well as working for their summer camp. Unfortunately, I cannot get over all these encounters as it has hurt my love for working out and reinforces the sexism many women face from working out.
Put in a deposit for a spot at the JCC Early Learning Center for our children over 2 years ago, contacted them more than once to inquire about when we would get in, and was never contacted saying a spot had finally opened up for us. They took our money and scammed us.
Thank-you Jewish Community, staff & visitors for making my fused art show so successful. I appreciate all the hard work Lynn Batten did to make it successful. The kind individuals who came through to see it & those that just happened upon it. I am very grateful to you all. Many thanks!
I love the JCC! They keep everything so clean! All the staff I have had the pleasure of communicating with have always been great, my daughter loves going to fit and sit while I workout and I feel comfortable leaving her knowing the teachers in the room are great. We have utilized many of their offerings over the years from summer camp to swim team to personal training to exercise classes and I simply cannot say enough good things. The only downside I see is that it can be challenging to get a spot for my daughter in fit and sit especially in the summer. I recommend everyone looking for a gym to check it out!
Wonderful facilities, and the staff is friendly and helpful. There are many things I love about the JCC. But can you access these facilities? Too often, things don't work, or there is limited access due to "staffing" (which some of us find a bit questionable). If you are considering the spa, I would highly recommend against it--great facilities in there, but too often they do not work (and I do not mean normal maintenance). And it pains me to write that, but it is an honest review from someone who has been a member for three plus years.
