Giving a 4 star because I have had my share of bad experiences here in the past. But last night/extremely early this morning was one of the best experiences I’ve had there and wanted others to know as well as them. I took my daughter there around midnight for vomiting (suspected acid reflux). I felt terrible for taking her to the ER for that, because it’s truly not an emergency. We have a pediatrician appointment Monday to address this, but the past week until I could put together that it was probably reflux, we have had countless night of very minimal sleep and last night I had enough. We were all extremely tired and I just wanted to help relieve it and help her sleep better until we could see her pediatrician Monday. I was worried that I would feel judged or dramatic for bringing her in for something so “little” and truly not something that she should be seen in the ER for. Absolutely no one in the ED (reception, triage, nurse, doctor) ever made me feel that way and made me feel validated for how I was feeling and why we were there. One of the quickest trips to the ER I’ve ever had there, which I know isn’t always their fault! They went looking for stickers after my daughter asked if they had any, and if they did if she could get an extra one for her brother at home. They found some and were able to grab her an extra one for her brother! I just can’t say thank you enough for listening to me and understanding I was just a very over tired mom trying to get my daughter some relief so we could all get some sleep.
Worst experience ever in life. I was admitted almost 2 weeks ago after constant bleeding, upper abdominal pain, and low hemoglobin. The nurse that first took care of me was extremely unprofessional and rude as hell! She treated me horribly until my parents got the room and suddenly changed her attitude infront of them. Biggest hypocrite. I was admitted for 5 days in which they ran multiple tests on me but still nothing was getting better. My symptoms stayed the same until on day 5 they decided to discharge me and send me home with tylenol 😒 The Dr suggested my parents take me to another hospital perhaps across the bridge. After still being in pain I was rushed to another Emergency room back in my hometown where within an hour of only running 2 tests (which were previously done more than once at TidalHealth) the Dr determined I had lots of Gallstones and needed to go into emergency surgery. The nurses were very surprised to hear that it wasn’t “ detected “ just 2 days before. I received the best treatment at this hospital and am currently 5 days post cholecystectomy. Extremely disappointed that I was forced to go through all of this. Wish i saw all these reviews before going in !
My wife and I had our first baby here and it went well all in all. Just be ready to order food but I expect that’s most hospital meals ;) I can only speak to induction. Pros: -Responsive Nurses. -Spacious rooms. -Very well educated nurses. -Very well coordinated. -Friendly Nurses who make you feel at home. Cons: -Labor plans changed a little too frequently between who we were speaking to. -Our cord clamping plan was not respected and it seemed to be out of nurse convenience instead of medical urgency. Advice: ensure all nurses involved have read the birthing plan. Be ready to stick up for your birth plan without exception but be willing to allow the nursing staff to override if medically necessary. I felt like we were bullied about the clamping and it bothers me but the whole experience was great for 41hrs of labor otherwise.
Spent a week here. Not going into detail. BUT I think the people complaining, are full of it. Every single person, from each department i was moved to, was compassionate, patient, informative and very nice. They saved my life and I never felt unsafe or poorly cared for. The food was so/so, but who cares? I looked at some of the negativd reviews, and I dont understand how somebody could have their life saved here, and then they give 1 star for some trivial nonsense. Some hospitals are bad. But this is not one of them... Thank you for everything. Im eternally grateful and I insist you all keep up thrle good work and dont change a thing (well, maybe get some better food options. But whatever lol). Thanks again everyone. One heck of an amazing hospital! Outstanding experience. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 6 stars.
This is the 2nd worst hospital I’ve ever been to with So MD being the worst. To actually work at a good hospital then have to come here for services when home is so hard to deal with. I feel so bad for the patients on the shore. There is very little quality healthcare down here. They don’t even have MDs in the ED, which is insane. Our ED is not trauma level and we even have all MDs in the ED. Have gone there twice recently with other family members and each time to diagnosis was wrong, with one of the wrong diagnoses ending up being a pulmonary embolism and the individual needing elevated care. They were sent home initially and thankfully are still alive today only because they went by ambulance the second time and the EMTs/Paramedics actually did their jobs.
