What Parents Say
PARSONS' LITTLE SCHOLARS has highly polarized reviews. Positive reviews praise the facility's preparation for elementary school and caring staff. However, the majority of recent reviews report serious concerns including inadequate supervision leading to unexplained child injuries, poor cleanliness and hygiene, unprofessional and dismissive staff responses to safety issues, and alleged inappropriate conduct by management.
Daughter constantly is injured while in their care. When I asked for an incident report today her teacher immediately got an attitude saying “it was an accident “ if you are concerned about your child’s safety I would warn you to stay away. The director ms.Mary she acted as if she didn’t care when I voiced my concerns. My child has permanent marks on her face all of which was done by supposedly “other students “ here at this center due to being unsupervised. The lack of concern that was giving from all adults involved is unacceptable. They need more training. I feel that they treat other students better than some and they try to cover up the bullying that is going on among their children at their center. Any injury is always said to be accidental when in fact it is intentional.my child nose is never clean when I pick her up . Before transferring to this center she was never sick and never got hurt at school. She has only been attending this center 7 months and has already been hurt over 10 times with no explanation. I reported them to DCF after the last injury. I’m looking for another child care center , one that will keep my child safe /clean. and I suggest you do the same. KEEP LOOKING.
Not a good place to take your child the place is not very clean, the food is not good, the staff and teachers are Unprofessional, ....The directors are Unprofessional and sneaky,... I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone!. They use to be a five star center years ago! but now it's no where how it use to be.They are very unorganized and unprofessional and off track. The director has no since of direction of her own she's very nosey and Nick pick with certain people, she's a snake in the grass,& she goes behind your back and talk about you to the other director!... They are very unstable with high a turn over rate and always hiring new teachers because they fire most of the teachers for no reason..the owner seems to be very cheap and low budgeted he spends most of his money going on vacation and buying new cars instead of spending it on the school plus it stinks & smells moldy from a fish tank breaking in lobby area, they are not very clean & the bathrooms the kids use smells like urine they don't clean and disinfect very well This place is a disaster..please do not bring your child to this center its hardly any curriculum that's implemented Parsons Little Scholars has lost all credibility and qualities as a whole
This all started when I noticed on 1/31/18 a mark on my sons upper arm area. I asked my son what happened and he told me the teacher grabbed his arm and squeezed it. I advised the director of Parson's Little Scholars, Mary, of this and also showed her pictures of the marks on my son's arm and asked for an incident report to be written. Then, the daycare for the following 2 weeks started complaining about my 5yr old son’s behavior. My son's father and I had a sit down on 2/9/18 with the owners, Mr. Parsons, Elaine, Mary and Ms. Jelly to see what can be done to assist in the situation. We got to a point where Mrs. Elaine, ARNP "A respected psychiatrist in the community" advised the dosage of his allergy medication was probably the case and we should try lowering the dosage. I did as advised even though it was not instructed by my son's pediatrician. I also scheduled a ADD eval with his pediatrician on 2/19/18, just in case. The very next week after the meeting the daycare was writing 3-4 incident reports concerning my son but they were all dated from the beginning of Feb 2018. Now, I'm starting to believe they are pin pointing out my son. They went as far as recording my son in their personal cell phones and after I instructed them to delete the videos/pictures, they advised they will keep them for evidence (Evidence against what? And let me remind you..He's only 5). On 2/15/18, Mr. Parsons called me stating the teachers are stating they had enough and my son needed to be picked up from the daycare and stay out until he is evaluated. While my sons father was there to pick my son up, Mr. Parsons stating yelling in my son's presence while pointing his finger in my son's face stating "He is a bad child, there is no help for him and he's the bad one." Mr. Parsons also went as far as stating he acts like he is possessed by demons. During this conversation, Mr. Parsons threaten to call the police and DCF on my sons father for no reason at all (I was the one that received a call to pick my son up). My son got picked up and was kept home Friday 2/16/18. I also moved his ADD eval to 2/16/18 and he was prescribed medication. Daycare was closed 2/19/18 (holiday) so, Tuesday 2/20/18 I contacted Mr. Parsons via his cell and asked if my son can come back to school. After the back and forth, he agreed for my son to return if I stayed there with him. I couldnt because of work but my sons father stayed at the daycare on 2/20/18 all day, outside of the classroom observing my son and seen he was behaving well. 2/21/18, I went by to drop my son off at the daycare. My sons father received a letter stating his presence at the daycare intimidated the teachers and parents and even with him there at the daycare my son still misbehaved so he is not welcomed back. I contacted Mr. Parsons to see what happened and during this call he stated "I was acting like a n****r and I needed to pick my children up from the daycare." Then he profiled my son's father stating the way he was dressed and looked was a problem. He can't help his skin color or the way I dressed. My son is now at a daycare that is loving and communicates well with us. And there are no behavior issues.
If I could give this place less star's I would. Run far from this place as fast as you can. My child was here for almost a month. I ignored all the early signs as i signed up, like how there was always clutter and nothing was ever organised. However, as time went on early in the morning I always find teachers yelling constantly at the children and even witnessed a teacher cussing at a parent. I started noticing everyday I go to pick up my child his nose running or dried up on his face. Then the final thing that made me take my child out this dirty place, my child had a Knot on his head upon leaving this place and according to them no one knows what happened or it could've been a mosquito bite as the administration says. Please be aware this daycare is definatley Not a 5 Star Daycare.
I wouldn't recommend this daycare. My 1yr old son got hurt this year and the teachers said they couldn't explain what happened. If your watching a child properly they won't get picked up at the end of the day with half of there front tooth missing. I had to report them to DCF. They didn't have cameras at the time either.
