What Parents Say
Reviews are not actually about the daycare center, but rather about Parma Hunger Center (a food pantry) and a church located at the same address. Reviewers praise the friendly staff, helpful service, and community support provided by these organizations.
The warmth and sincerity of this church is undeniable. Pastor Jay was so genuinely helpful and responsive to our family as we had to say goodbye to our grandmother who was a long time member. The community there is friendly and welcoming and there is so much opportunity there to have true Christian values present in your every day life. The Hunger Center is not run by the church. That is very important to note. It is housed there physically as the church had space adequate for it to allow for it to be run there. The church community is small (once very large) but the commitment to members, friends and community is immeasurable. Please support their efforts to grow and restore.
Three stars only because I have not attended service here and therefore I cannot speak to the spirituality or religiosity of this Church, its clergy, or its congregation. I was only at the building to drop off a donation to the Parma Hunger Center which is located there. That in itself is a positive as is the community garden they have grown for several years. I am personally non-religious, but based only upon the information I have read, seen, and heard, this is a Church that I would want to attend at least once if I were looking for a place to worship as part of a congregation.
I went to this food pantry a few years ago and the volunteer s they had we're so rude to me just attitude after attitude, now 2017 iv falling on hard times again and went here for some help well I went last month got some food and most of the volunteer s haven't changed a lot of elderly people with attitude s,long story short I was 3rd person in line the 3 women ahead of me didn't even speak English they got tons of food and Christmas presents for there kids no problems at all,my number gets called after waiting almost an hour the lady asked my name I told her she grabbed my card said no your not getting food you were here last month you have to come every other month I said no one ever told me can I please get some food I'll not come next month the lady said NO! Then another lady said real loud he's trying to get food embarrassin me in front of everyone ,I already feel horrible that I'm here trying to get some food then they treat the gets terrible I said we're is your Christmas spirit all I kept hearing is NO NO NO YOUR NOT GETTING AND FOOD NO COMPASSION NO NOTHING,I also left out a part of story when me and other 2 women first walked in one of the volunteer s practiley screaming at us IF YOUR NOT A PARMA RESIDENT YOUR NOT GETTING FOOD!I asked the lady is there other things available today because of all the other tables set up with gifts ,same thing volunteer just gave me attitude and said you can't get it with no children, this letter I'm writing doesn't even grasp the terrible experience I had here the rudeness attitude unprofessional lack of compassion etc, people going to a food pantry already feel horrible they don't need to leave your church feeling even worse,I don't know who is in charge of this place but someone needs to make the rules very clear with big signs people can read and get loving caring volunteer s with a smile instead of what they have now,I left here and called another church on ridge Rd asked about food pantry the director said yes yes yes come up we will take care of you I got there she talked to me like a human being gave food told me about events they have gave me a list of other pantry such a kind women I told her about Parma Lutheran and she said to my surprise she has been hearing for years how bad the volunteer s treat the guests and should be looked into,I'll never go back to Parma Lutheran again I would rather starve then experience that again!
Great food pantry! Thank you so much, I recently tore my rotator cuff and had to cut my hours at work the food pantries help so much!
My daughter went there for food and they rudely told her that she wasn't on the list even though she had called and they told her to come at 2 I know there are only volunteers but for god-fearing people they are very rude and don't care about other people
