Great church! Great food pantry!great people! These volunteers are amazing! Helping people in need. They are very friendly and please dont be ashamed of the food pantry. Your families need to eat, they provide. Please take advantage of this food pantry once a month.they offer alot of good, healthy food...and also medication, skin care, preg tests and more. Its comforting knowing that they are there for you as human beings, not anything else❤
This is one of the most compassionate, loving churches possible. I noted a review of someone who showed up cold in the middle of the night and was refused help. Of course, I know nothing more than what was posted. My questions would be: why would someone come to a church in the middle of the night and expect an open door? I doubt that anyone was there! Second, if there WAS anyone there, they would be a custodian and would be naturally cautious and without authority to unlock the church. I am sorry that the gentleman was wandering residential streets cold in the middle of the night. It seems unreasonable, however, to expect open doors. A business street would afford more likely prospects of an open door. For example, Deluxe Donuts is five blocks away and open all night. Was he from out of town and did not know the area? Why was he wandering? How on earth did he end up in that spot at that time? Had this gentleman come during the day he would have received help and comfort and guidance from the kindest and most generous community of people he could want. They have a whole Community Center with food bank, and I expect someone could have rustled up a warmer coat. My point is that this is not the kind of situation that a church should be judged by. That's not a fair evaluation.
I have been going to to this church for a few weeks and it strikes me that this is possibly one of the best churches I have ever been to. Now I've been to some bad/unhealthy churches, enough that i am quite certain there is no so such thing as a five star "perfect" church. What I find refreshing is that this church has not tried to sell itself as perfect. In fact, a number of weeks ago a number of leaders confessed their imperfections and their short comings as Christians in ministry. I was personally surprised, I had never know any pastor or church leader to issue a apology (I've known a lot of righteous holy roller types). I think this church tries to engage with Anderson as a community, rather than putting up barriers of isolation, control, and judgement. I am so happy to have found this church, Its truly a blessing to have found such a loving community...I think the best churches have the marks of love and integrity and i feel this church retains both.
Wonderful people and so much food! Milk eggs bread potatoes apples onions chicken wings and hamburger. That's just part of what I received. This will help me so so much! Thank you!
