What Parents Say
Palmetto Children's Academy receives consistently high praise from parents who appreciate the caring staff, strong academics, and Christian-based curriculum. Parents highlight the director Kim's 30+ years of experience and teacher Kodi's exceptional work preparing children for kindergarten. The facility is noted for its security features, daily communication via app, and welcoming environment that reduces separation anxiety.
PCA has been wonderful for both of my babies since 2018. They treat every child like their own. The love and support we got over the years has been so reassuring. When my daughter went to kindergarten she could already read and scored so high on her map scores. I was very impressed with Kodi Dawson and her 4K program. My daughter was not only ready but excelling. When it was my sons turn to go into 4K, we opted to keep him at PCA instead of enrolling him into the free program at our local elementary school. This decision was not made lightly but paid off in the end. My son just graduated and is ready for K5! I couldn’t be more thankful for our family at PCA!!!
My son has attended PCA since 2021, and we’ve been happy from the very first day. All of the teachers have shown him love and attention all while nurturing his cognitive development. He just turned 5 and will be entering Kindergarten in August already reading and writing! My husband and I also love that PCA has taught our son about God’s love through their Christian-based curriculum. Communication is strong, and we get daily updates on behavior (which I love). Our youngest will be starting next month, and we can’t wait to see how he flourishes!
My wife and I had our youngest son at PCA for about 2.5 years and could not have been happier. You can tell that everyone there truly cares for the children and wants the best for them. Ms. Kim is the director and is great to work with. Ms. Kodi was our last pre-k teacher and was fantastic. It's rare to see someone as patient and loving as she was with all the kids. I would not hesitate to go back or recommend to friends or family.
I toured 9 other preschools before settling on Palmetto Children's Academy in Rock Hill for my 4yo son. It wasn't that the other schools were bad or anything but none of them brought me a sense of relief or comfort like PCA did when I walked into the lobby. Even my 8yo daughter who tagged along for the tour commented as we entered inside how much she wish her preschool had a large play area like PCA does. Both of my kids, as well as myself, liked how simple but cute the wall murals are throughout the school. I love that the kids all gather together in a larger room at the front when they have their (included with tuition) morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack. They use a great curriculum which besides teaches the children reading etc, its also focused on instilling values like kindness, compassion, empathy and more. My son always comes home telling me about story time and playing outside and what he did with his new friends he has made there. I cannot stress how much I love the staff!! Kim, the director has over 30 years experience of owning and managing her own early development program. My son's teacher, Miss (Mrs/Ms?) Kodi is so sweet and thorough. She has over 15 years experience if I'm remembering correctly as an early childrens educator. The school utilizes fingerprint entry for the parents, cameras as well as secured doors to keep all the munchkins safe. The staff communicates with the families via an app that's easy to use, free and secure. Miss Kodi as well as Kim are great about updating through the app regularly if not daily. Kim really loves what she does. It truly shows in how the children run to her for hugs, how she greets each parent, siblings of students etc by name and more. I am so happy I kept searching for "the one". I've been a stay-at-home-mama for over 8 years now and had anxiety about sending my baby to school, but Kim, Kodi and everyone else at PCA have brought me so much peace and calm about this new transition for not only my son but myself as well.
My wife and I checked out several other preschools in Fort Mill where we live and just couldn't find the right fit for our 4yo son. My wife searched Google and from other good reviews she did a tour with our 2 kids. All 3 of them loved the school and staff so much that my wife enrolled our son right then and there. He's been attending now with Mrs Kodi for the 4k class the last week and loves it, almost as much as he loves dinosaurs. Thanks PCA and Kim (owner) for creating a loving, safe and fun school for children.
