Our Savior Lutheran School

My kids attended this school from 2K-4K and had a wonderful experience. It was a caring and nurturing environment. I personally know that the board and staff care about each and every student. Some of these reviews are harsh and full of slander. OSLS is an amazing place for kiddos to learn. Definitely consider sending your kids to this school. You and your kids will love it. I promise!

This is and has always been the best preschool in the state of South Carolina. My children both attended this school and are both excelling at the top of their class because of their start here at OSL Day School. This school provides a safe place for kids to grow and learn. I wouldn't send my kids to any other school! I highly recommend this school!

Absolutely the worst run "Preschool" ever! The first problem is the school isn't even run by the teachers nor the director of the school. The school is run by a group of board members that have no affiliation at all with the day to day operations of the school. They (board) don't want the children having access to any electronic devices which in 2025 is Absolutely crazy! Your children will not be prepared for tablets and laptops that they will be required to use at the next level if this board has anything to do about it. The former director, and teachers fought so hard to make sure they ran this school best they could but we're constantly handcuffed by a board living in the stone ages instead of allowing ideas, growth, and innovation happen. No director or teacher should ever take a job here and expect it to be treated as a serious job by this board. Serious lack of awareness by the "real members" running this school. I've now had 4 children go through this school and the only reason we stayed was the group of teachers that ran this school were the best and the glue that made things great! The egos that run this school behind the scenes is absolutely disgusting especially for a "church" and I use that term very loosely. Parents..... I urge you to really look deep behind just the surface of what you see on the outside before supporting this institution....... Follow up to this review: I was told to reach out via email or phone call. However, I did directly email multiple members of this board along with the school as soon as the issue happened. As a result regarding my complaints, issues, and concerns, I never received one reply to Any of my issues, also not one response from anyone who was on that email. Just another example of what was stated above.

Three years at Our Saviour Lutheran School have been wonderful for our child! They have been well-loved by all of the teachers. Even the ones who haven't taught them yet know every child by name! My child is excited to be dropped off every day, and comes home just as happy. The children spend their day playing while also learning their ABCs and numbers. I am grateful for our time here.

What was once a warm, nurturing environment has drastically changed, and not for the better. The most heartbreaking part? The children are the ones paying the price. The teaching staff and Director resigned on July 1. That’s not a small change—that’s a total upheaval. Yet families weren’t informed for more than two weeks. No communication. No transparency. Just silence. To make matters worse, parents who understandably wanted to unenroll their children were denied refunds. This is despite a completely restructured classroom model: 1-year-olds now being grouped with 2-year-olds, and 3-year-olds with 4-year-olds. That’s not what parents signed up for. It’s not what they paid for. In my view, it’s a breach of trust and contract. And here’s the part that broke my heart the most: my grandchild loved the sensory room. It was a calm, carefully designed space that helped kids with sensory needs feel safe, supported, and understood. The new Director and Board had it dismantled without a second thought. Just gone. No explanation, no replacement. It shows a real lack of understanding about childhood development and what it takes to nurture all children, not just the easy ones. Parents aren’t being heard. The Board is making top-down decisions that don’t reflect care, safety, or the best interests of the children. The loving, family-first culture that once made this preschool special has been replaced with cold bureaucracy and poor leadership. I would not recommend Our Saviour Lutheran Preschool in its current state. Please look elsewhere—for the sake of your little ones.
