What Parents Say
Our Savior Lutheran is a Missouri-synod Lutheran church in Plantation, Florida that operates an associated preschool/school program. Parents praise the welcoming congregation, dedicated pastoral staff, and the quality of the school's curriculum and caring teachers. Reviews consistently highlight the warm, family-friendly atmosphere and the church's genuine care for its community members.
Our family enrolled at Our Savior Lutheran School seeking a nurturing, values-based education. While some teachers are caring and the principal was generally kind, little meaningful change occurred when concerns were raised. The school expects families to adapt to its philosophy rather than adapting to the child. Learning disabilities, ADHD, and emotional regulation differences are not meaningfully recognized or accommodated, and neurodiversity is poorly understood. Bullying is present and not consistently addressed, and there is little academic differentiation for advanced learners. The religious curriculum is very conservative and strongly influences instruction and discipline. This school may be a fit for typical learners who thrive in a highly structured, traditional, conservative religious environment. It is not recommended for children with special needs or for families seeking individualized support.
This is a Missouri-synod Lutheran Church. Traditional service at 8 am and blended with a praise band at 10:30 am. Very friendly congregation.
1st time visiting the church and was very impressed. Congregation was open and friendly. Pastor Tony preached from the scripture that you could feel it in your soul. I was not raised Lutheran, but it doesn't matter when the service is from the Bible. If you want a hometown church feeling, this is the place to be. Did I mention that I'm disabled and they brought Communion to me? Made me feel the love from the congregation. Hands down, they go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. A must visit.
So happy that my son spent his preschool years in this wonderful school. The staff and teachers are always very kind and helpful and we really loved the structure and curriculum in the classroom. All I have are happy memories to share and I look forward to my daughter following in my sons footsteps and attending as well!
We tried several churches after moving to the area and came back to this one to be our church. The new pastor, pastor tony, came to pray with us in the hospital after we had our second baby girl. It was so incredible the time he and his wife took out of their schedule to come and do that, we were really blown away!! The service is more on the traditional side, and the messages are always very relatable and inspiring, also well delivered and easy to follow! They changed the services times recently to 8:00 and 10:30, which 10:30 is a PERFECT time for us to get the kiddos fed and ready to go by!! The church family is very welcoming and they encourage you to have your children in with you, even if they do make a little noise! We would love to see more families attend, so if you are considering attending a service at Our Savior please do!!!!
