My children have been attending ODLC for over three years. We love, love, love everything about the school. The day I took my first son for a tour there, he jumped right in with the other children and didn't want to leave. It is small, intimate, clean and my sons learned so much there. The teachers and staff at this school are simply amazing. I have always felt comfortable leaving my sons in their care because I know they are safe and loved. I also appreciate how the staff provide feedback on a daily basis. I highly recommend this school to everyone that asks.

So, after a few battles with other daycares in the area, we found Open Door Learning Center...and it's a diamond in the rough! It's a bit more than others; but the reduced class sizes, student ratio, and staffed skilled in ABA have made a remarkable difference in our child. He's happy, never complains about school, loves his teachers and his classmates, and is in an inviting and nurturing environment that is way more concerned with his wellbeing than their paychecks; unlike other schools we've tried. He's not a number, he's not the problem child, he's not experiencing a new teacher every few weeks (turnover at the other daycares is ridiculous). We went from getting a phone call every other day to ZERO calls since we enrolled months ago. He's absolutely thriving here and the stability for our family is 100% worth the cost. They have access to grants and assistance to help with tuition too! It's not astronomical; but it is technically more...however, they have smaller class sizes and the kiddos get WAY more attention and coaching to help them grow mentally, physically, and emotionally! You can absolutely tell the staff CARES ABOUT THE KIDS! The hours are not as good as others, the location is off the beaten path, and the facility isn't high tech or glamorous; but the trade off is absolutely excellent care and education...our son is learning, not only in the traditional educational sense; but also how to cope, adjust, approach, empathize, and be the best person he can be! He loves it here...and because he does, so do we!

Amazing If I could give ODLC ten stars, I would. This school is the best-kept secret in Northern Virginia - nestled in a gorgeous, private setting of the Arc of Loudoun Campus. Our son went from kicking and screaming into a regular daycare setting to excitedly waving goodbye to me each morning as he joined his friends and teachers at ODLC. Their smaller class sizes and focus on ABA is paramount in the development of happy, confident kids who are school ready when they graduate from the Pre-K program. The teachers are absolutely amazing. They take the time to truly know and guide each child based on their abilities, rather than a set standard, all the while giving each little mind a chance to shine among their peers. Their focus on social skills was probably my favorite part of the program - our son developed so much in his ability to form relationships, deal with conflict constructively, take turns, listen and have empathy for others that he was a completely different child when he graduated. We only wish we could have found it sooner and stayed longer, but are grateful because foundation they gave our son is immeasurable. I could go on about how great it is, I hope if you are searching for the best for your child, that you will check out ODLC.

It's been over a year now that I have tried scheduling a simple tour for my child with the director. One tour was scheduled months in advance and she canceled just a few days before stating she didn't have enough staffing to cover care of the children. I have reached out to her in desperation and she keeps telling me to wait. I am not sure as to the director's or center's screening practices but it leads one to wonder.

As a child psychologist, and as the director of a mental health private practice, I am frequently asked by parents about preschool placements. I give ODLC a solid 5 Stars for the great job that they do in preparing children (and parents) for kindergarten! While their program is inclusive, and while they serve neurotypical students and students without emotional or behavioral challenges, they also do an amazing job with children who experience sensory, social/emotional, fine motor, self-regulation and behavioral regulation challenges and other sorts of developmental challenges. Their team's use of applied behavioral analysis to address developmental challenges has proven to be very helpful. Ms. Christine Favréaux, ODLC's Administrative Director, is wonderful; she has a heart of gold and cares so very much about her students and program. I have been recommending ODLC for many years now, and I will continue do so. Keep up the great job, Christine and ODLC!!!
