One World Montessori School INC.

My husband and I were drawn to One World Montessori when while observing, we noticed a table on the corner with a dove and a bell. We were told by the Guide that it was a PEACE table where children are encourage to use when they were experiencing conflict with other children. The PEACE table reside in the classroom and outdoor environment. PEACE lessons are given once a week at the beginning of each year (January) where the children are taught to resolve conflict by going back to their hearts and to recognize that peace is always an option. While the Guides teach peace lessons to the children, they do not interrupt the children while they use the PEACE table as they encourage the children to resolve their problems on their own with other children. The PEACE table is also very democratic as children can also take the Guides to the peace table if they like. It was such a powerful reminder to my husband and I that we need the skills early on to resolve conflict if we were to have a more peaceful society and that the problem reside in the fact that most of us do not know the skills to be able to resolve conflict peacefully. We have as a family place a PEACE table in our home, garden, and an abstract one during travels to remind our children that talking about conflict is normal and finding peace in every conflict is possible.

Our older son started at One World three years ago. We toured the classroom and were amazed at the level of calm & focus showed by all the kids there. Everyone was doing their work. The teachers sat at the same level as the kids. The kids were captivated! When it was time for our younger son to go to pre-school, we happily brought him to One World. Our older son will graduate from their Kindergarten program this year. He has grown immensely at One World.The two have built strong friendships and developed important life skills there. The teachers have phenomenal dedication. I can't emphasize enough how amazing the teachers are. When everyone was sent home during the pandemic, we had FaceTime calls with the teachers at home to see how the kids were doing. They made high quality online lessons. They were flexible and modified things as we all learned how to make it work remotely. The school has been built around close adherence to the Montessori method, so online learning was a stretch for the teachers and staff, but they performed admirably. When the school opened in the summer, we felt it was important to get the kids back in the classroom and also to support the school financially. The teachers and staff communicated health & safety protocols clearly and has stuck with them well. We feel that the kids are in a safe environment. One other constant at the school has been the amazing celebration of diversity of the students, families, and staff. Our kids are becoming global citizens through the school's UN Day, celebration of holidays from around the world, the diffusion of cultures in an open environment. We really recommend One World Montessori without reservations. The school won't be the lowest cost or most flexible with hours, but we'd choose all the wonderful things about the school if given the choice any day.

My daughter has been in this school since she was 14 months old, and she is now in 2nd grade. Great school, wonderful teachers, a very good experience in all. The kids are very well behaved, attentive to class and doing their work every time I go to drop and pick up my kid, during school hours or day care. The teachers give their all, and know each kid's strengths and weaknesses, and they adjust their lessons accordingly. I have seen many shy kids that have flourished (including my own) and got great advice from them. Great programs after school, too. I've read the one star review and I decided to leave my review since that review seemed to me as not being about the school I know and love (sorry for your experience, a google user.)

One World Montessori is such an amazing school. Just the style of learning and the independents the children have here is beautiful. My daughter has been going to OWM for about a year now and I have seen such a huge change in her attitude , confidence, intelligence, and behavior. Before when my daughter went to Kindercare it was hard brining her to school everyday without her crying for me. Now she's excited to learn and play with all the students here, and loves every second of it. The classrooms have students from age 2-6 which makes the older kids feel independent to help out the younger ones in the classroom which is nice. They have so many shows and learning activities for the kids here. Practical life learning activities for everyday life.Healthy snack, the kids don't have sugar at all which makes the environment a lot more calm. The students get to choose what they want to learn from the guidence of the teachers, and they also have an door garden where the children can do outside work as well and working with real chickens! It's such a cute school,and our commute is about 30 mins everyday, but I can tell you now it is worth it. Can't wait to see the out come of this school with my daughter!

Decent school when they are open. Since the beginning of 2022 they have been closed due to holidays and "exposures" as many weeks as they have been open. It's unreasonable to expect parents to pay for all the weeks that kids do not even get to go to school.
