We searched for two years to find a church home in Alexandria and we are SO grateful we found OPMH! We wanted a friendly, inclusive, justice- oriented church with excellent, thought provoking teaching, a strong music program, and lots of ways to connect with other folks. We found all these things and so much more! This vibrant, loving congregation has welcomed us with open arms and we are home! Come join us!
This church is truly special, and we feel incredibly blessed to have been part of this warm and welcoming community since 1995. The fellowship, faith, music and support here are truly inspiring. If you’re looking for a church home that feels like family and nurtures your spiritual growth, we wholeheartedly recommend this congregation. All are welcome!
As a longtime member of the Old Presbyterian Meeting House, I think it's safe to say that members of this community of faith have become my extended family. OPMH pastors and members are deeply committed to sharing God's grace and searching together through worship, study, fellowship and service to discern God's will for us in this world. It is an incredibly welcoming community. Please join us!.
Established in 1772 the building was Georgian style but was gutted by a fire in 1835 but was rebuilt using the same eighteenth century architectural elements. I came to the Meeting House to visit the Tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary Soldier. Well kept and lovely churchyard. Lots of history on this plot of land.
If you are a Daughter or Son of the American Revolution (as I am) you will find here the tomb of the unknown revolutionary war soldier and others. What a historic gem!
