All 3 of my boys have attended from 2020-2025. I have my PhD in early childhood education, and it ticks all the boxes. It’s not the fanciest of places, but the kids are loved and are learning! It also has a great neighborhood feel.

I found the YWCA when we moved to the area from San Francisco. There weren’t too many reviews so I wanted to share my experience now that I have two kids enrolled (one about to graduate). It’s a great organization, with great teachers and a neighborhood/community feel. It’s not exactly high tech or high touch (i.e. daily photos, streamlined communications, formal teacher reports) so if you want that, this is not your place. We love it for being kid and play-centered, well rounded in the topics and themes they cover, and very flexible for working parents. Between both our kids we’ve covered infant to preK and have loved all the teachers. Love that they offer the Georgia PreK program too.

My daughter started at the YWCA when she was 2 months old. She had extremely terrible reflux to the point where I was embarrassed to take her and leave her for them to deal with all day. However, the infant room teachers quickly bonded with my baby, and I felt comfortable leaving her in their care everyday. I loved walking in there each day and seeing how they loved on all those babies constantly giving them attention. My daughter has never cried when being dropped off at the YWCA each morning, so I feel very reassured that I have in her in the right place. She has now moved on to the mobile infants room, but she still makes a visit to her infant room teachers daily. We recently moved to Tucker, so we visited other centers out of convenience for our new commute. We decided to do whatever it takes to stick with the YWCA because we cannot bear the thought of having another center care for our child. They're not perfect, but it is obvious that the teachers love kids and love their jobs. Everyone there is friendly, down-to-earth, and I appreciate each and every one of them.

My daughter attended Pre-K here and was absolutely prepared for Kindergarten by the end of the year! I have never seen 3 teachers per class, as they have here, nor have I ever witnessed a school that took so many field trips! The local community loves the YWCA! Due to its prime location in Virginia Highlands, the location is perfect and the parents are heavily involved. This truly contributed to our students' success because they were held accountable by everyone from their peers up to the YWCA's CEO, Ms. Elliot. I would definitely recommend this school!

My daughter has been in the infant room since she was 8 weeks old. It was so scary to leave her so young, but I have been overwhelmed by the love and care she has received there. The staff are patient and loving and have been doing this a long time. It was exactly what we wanted in a day care. I encourage people to visit and see for yourself. There is no one solution for everyone, but I can say we are extremely happy and it has exceeded our expectations.
