North Star Learning Center

We have been so happy with our experience at North Star Learning Center. The entire staff is AMAZING- communicative, warm, and loves your child like their own. The outdoor classroom and specials provide a perfect way for our toddler to use his energy for learning and play. Our son gets so excited for school, it has been such a comfort as a first time mom. North Star quickly became an extension of our family, and I cannot recommend it enough for your little ones!

We have felt so lucky to be part of North Star. The school is just the right size, small enough to feel like a community and see familiar faces every day and large enough to have a great admin and specials team to support the classes and run enrichment and events. Highly encourage you to visit if you are looking for a daycare for your kid - the facility is one of the best we saw with a variety of airy indoor spaces and shaded outdoor spaces. Even when TX weather is at its worst I know our kids will have space to release their wiggles!

North Star Learning Center is the BEST. We have loved both of our our children's teachers and the front desk staff are so friendly and helpful. The facilities are excellent, and the events are so much fun. I can tell my kids have such a blast, learn so much and have great relationships with their classmates and teachers. We're blessed to have a safe, fun and enriching place to send our kids to that we trust.

Very disheartening experience. Lack of boundaries and eliminates children with any challenges. Before joining the school we discussed what our son struggled with, with the director. Who said, it was no problem and they would work with us. The main problem being, biting. After starting, we were working on an ADHD diagnosis for our 3 year old and what resources we needed to best help him because he was very active and strong willed. We did share this with the staff because we were getting calls and messages everyday our child was up there. Some of the calls, very reasonable but then it got to the point that there was a HUGE lack of boundaries and targeting our son. It started to be about anything and then throwing in something about our other child, who had nothing to do with the conversation being had. We did start to feel pushed out about a month before we finally left. As we were going through our testing for ADHD, we had our child tested twice for Autism and we told this to Debbie, the director. He tested negative both times. She began overstepping and telling us what we should tell our doctor. Which was 1. already information that was shared with our doctor but 2. Information that would lead to an Autism diagnosis. She flat out said they did not have the resources to support him. A child with ADHD. Basically if your child doesn't sit down and be quiet for the whole day, they don't want to deal with them. From reading past reviews, it seems like this is a common theme of discrimination against kids who have some challenges. I made a complaint to the board of Northstar and they listened but, the man who was apart of the meeting was condescending. Kim was kind but, neither of them had much to say other than I'm sorry and we'll talk to her about a lack of boundaries. Good news is both of my sons are thriving at our new school. He lets them change his diaper, no tantrums, naps during naptime and has no issues with biting. Makes me really question the environment of this school and why my kids were so uncomfortable. Also so weird that parents have to just drop their kids off outside of the classroom and you never talk to their teachers? Brandee was the only awesome staff member there.

Absolutely obsessed with this school! So many neighbors in the community have sent their kiddos here and glad we get to call North Star Learning Center home for our kiddos. They work with the parents and the little ones to ensure educational success.
