I have two sons and they both went to New Horizons. As a Boulder native I was so glad to find a place that kept the old spirit of Boulder. With its commitment to serving lots of different communities including under served populations with open minded ideals, New Horizons was everything I wanted to find in an early education experience for my kids. While the kids play in nature, follow their inner creativity, and are guided by gentle and respectful teachers, they form bonds with a diverse group of friends. New Horizons lays a foundation for resilient, compassionate little people. This school is truly special, it has adult teachers who attended when they were kids who return to teach. We now live in England and I still couldn’t imagine a more idyllic place for my kids to have fostered their first steps into learning. We love New Horizons.
The most incredible place to send your child. This is not just a school - it’s a community. And a community led by the absolutely brilliant teachers at New Horizon. The environment is joyful bright and fun for the preschoolers. The leaders are wonderful in not only instructing these early learners but also guided by the children’s interests as well - a true conversation. There are fantastic field trips to a local art center and lots of outdoor play that allow the kids to truly thrive day in an out. I loved being a part of this school, as a parent , the volunteering aspect allows you to get to know the other children well and forge an even stronger sense of community. Absolutely hands down the best place we could have ever imagined sending out child to - it set him up for huge success not just moving forward to kindergarten - but for life. Thank you New Horizons ⭐️
I have been a New Horizons parent for 7 years. New Horizons has been like a second family for us. We have grown so close to all the teachers and trust them fully with our children's care. We have also gone to two other preschools for various reasons, but feel that both the teachers and community at New Horizons are the best. You will not find another preschool of this value for such an affordable price in Boulder. What a great school!
Sending our child to New Horizons was truly one of the best decisions we have made as parents. Due to the schools reputation for creating community and it’s remarkable history in our town, Before preschool was on our short-term playbook, we knew we’d send our kiddo to NH. Because of the part-time, cooperative nature of the school, we had to take care to ensure to create the correct building blocks in our family to make the commitment, and I’m so glad we did. Over the 3 years our kiddo was there, we invited many friends to the gatherings and each one was immediately in awe by the magical, warm, and welcoming environment. The cooperative structure meant that we, as parents, built relationships with the teachers, parents, and other kids in the school. From a social-emotional perspective, our daughter was encouraged to build friendships with all of the kiddos, teachers, and other parents as well. She was encouraged to solve problems independently and, most importantly for us, she was inspired toward creativity through their emphasis on play. We developed what I know will be lasting friendships with the other families and now, two years later, the community we most regularly call on is the one we formed at New Horizons. It is a special place, filled with special people and we’re incredibly grateful to have been a small piece of their vibrant puzzle.
New Horizons is my favorite preschool in Boulder because it serves all families with equity and it is a place where kids learn how to live in community and provides them with a foundation in collective values. It is play based and truly bilingual and bicultural and Isolde and the teachers always put what is best for kids and families before anything. I feel fortunate to have found this school for my children.
