Having my kids attend New Horizon Academy, off of Shady Oak Road in Eden Prairie, has been one of the best decisions I have made as a parent. The atmosphere is welcoming and feels like home. The teachers are phenomenal and know what they are doing. My three oldest have graduated New Horizon and are excelling in their schooling now (my eldest just got straight A’s in advanced classes!) and I attribute a large amount of this to New Horizon and how they prepared my children for school. My youngest currently attends New Horizon Academy, Shady Oak, and everyday she comes home happy and smiling. I also love the pictures and check ins I get with the staff everyday! Thank you, New Horizon for being such a prominent and influential part in my family’s lives!
Can't say enough about how amazing all the teachers and staff are. Laurie and team create a great learning atmosphere for the kids! They offer a perfect balance between academic and emotional learning. We were a part of the NHA family for 7 years and we miss them so much!
We love the experience we have had with New Horizon Shady Oak. The teachers are fantastic. We get bummed when our daughter ages up to a new room because we get attached to the teachers but are impressed with how smooth they make the transition and how the teachers in the other age groups are just as excellent! We enjoy all the creative and engaging activites they plan out with the kids even from the infant stage. The updates and pictures we get throughout the day make us smile. The teachers go above and beyond to make sure the kids and families are taken care of.
Our three children have grown up with the New Horizon Shady Oak family. Most people who meet our kids, seem to like them (or at least they don't tell us otherwise)- so kudos to New Horizon! It is never fun to leave one's children, but every day when we drop off our kids, we know that they will be protected, loved, taught and cared for by professionals who love our kids like their own. Our kids have developed particularly in three areas: socialization, life skills and academic skills. Our kids love to socialize, and they learned those skills at NH. Our kids are able to converse with a wide variety of kids and adults and are able to adapt to new settings. Some of our kids' best friends in the world are children they have met at New Horizon. We credit this to the community of friendship engendered at the school. Moreover, life skills like feeding, nap time and potty training were all supported immensely by the incredible teachers at New Horizon Shady Oak. Finally, the curriculum the children use ensured that our kids were ready to start Kindergarten. Thanks so much for all you do. We are forever grateful!
I send my daughter to this daycare/school and we love it! My sister and I grew up coming here so I knew my daughter would be in perfect hands. The staff love our child as their own and are so great with the kids. The activities always keep them engaged and the outside time is our daughter’s favorite. She absolutely loves going to school every day and seeing her favorite teachers!
