I would not reccommend NECCI if your child may have difficulty transitioning into school. My daughter cried seperating from my husband and I at drop-off and multiple times during the day for the first week of school (she had a fear of napping at school). We were told she was a distraction and a disturbance. Staff did very little to help with her tansition and the lead teacher was obviously annoyed with her each morning. After I asked for an incentive to be put into place, the lead teacher started a sticker chart - as anyone would expect, it took several days for my daughter to gradually become successful with the sticker chart. However, before two weeks were even up we were asked to leave the program. On my daughter's last day (day 8 of school), she had received all stickers and didn't cry - she was so proud of herself. However, I had to break the news to her that she wouldn't be able to go back to that school. What is worse, is that the director TEXTED me in the middle of the work day, on the 7th day of school, a Tuesday - to inform me that NECCI "wasn't the right fit" for my daughter and that we had until the end of the week. Apparently there is a clause in the paperwork where they can expell your child within two weeks. She didn't even give us the decency of a phone call. And what's more - she never contacted me prior to the text to discuss my child's difficulties. At the time, I was 9 months pregnant and I was scheduled for an induction on the Thursday of the week they notified me that my daughter was no longer welcome in the program - my daughter's teacher knew this information. I couldn't be less pleased with this program and feel that other parents should be equipped with this information before entrusting their children to the care of NECCI.
