My Second Home

Over the past seven years, my three children have had the privilege of attending My Second Home. The enthusiasm, creativity, and care shown by the teachers and admin is deeply appreciated. We will always be grateful for the supportive and loving environment they provided to each of our kids.

Thank you My Second Home staff for loving and caring for my son as you did! Thank you Janet and Maru for the patience, caring and love you had toward him! I will forever be grateful! 🥹 My son has be receiving several therapies with an outside agency, and My Second Home made it possible for his therapist to meet with him during child care! 10/10 recommend! Your kid will be loved here!

My Second Home has been amazing!!!!! We love this school. My daughter attended the school three years and my son has now been here for a couple years, so we've been with them since 2015 and will end up being happy customers for a total of five years, when he finally goes off to Kindergarten. It will be hard to leave. The staff has always been so wonderful. The leadership is awesome. Our kids love their teachers and the fact that they're becoming fluent in a Spanish even though we don't speak it at home. We had some experience with another place in Lafayette that, while friendly and caring, ultimately felt like too big to be meaningful. My Second Home is perfect!!!

My Second Home is such a great place for my little boy! We started there after a not-so-great experience at another preschool and have been so impressed with their level of care and compassion. My son was a bit apprehensive at first because of his previous experience and the teachers took such good care of him. They took the time to get to know him and he looks forward to talking to them each day. I know they truly care about him and his well-being. They are there for the right reason. Not only are the teachers amazing with my son, but the leadership has been great, even through some changes. Any time I need something, they promptly respond. I even called to ask one day if they knew off-hand what the cook put in their rice because my son eats all their food but won't touch any of my cooking at home. It was one of those, if you know, great, but don't go out of your way to find out. She didn't know, but did go out of her way to find out, even though I told her not to worry about it. As an educator myself, I know they probably have a million more important things going on. She called me back within 30 minutes of hanging up and told me what was in the rice as well as some other foods. Not only are the people great, the school's values are wonderful. They believe in balancing play with learning, and I feel there is a perfect mix. They also believe strongly in good nutrition, so I don't have to worry about my son having things that are unhealthy that we don't allow at home.

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE My Second Home. Both our boys have attended, one moved on to kindergarten last year, the second on is currently enrolled. Education is excellent and all the teachers are incredibly loving. They do the usual preschool academics and art projects. But also do cooking, gardening, yoga, dance, with extra activities during the summer. It's been a wonderful environment for our kids.
