What Parents Say
Mount Tabor Wee Care receives mixed reviews with significant variation in parent experiences. While many parents praise the caring staff, director Megan, developmental readiness, and accommodating policies, serious concerns have been raised about staff conduct, child supervision, and administrative professionalism. The facility operates in a church basement with extended hours (6am-6pm) at approximately $118-121 per week.
My daughter went here from about 18 months until she had to leave for kindergarten. The staff have all been excellent, and I can't say enough good things about Megan, who took the director position a couple years back. The teachers genuinely care about the kids and it shows. My daughter ended up more than ready for Kindergarten, and she is looking forward to being able to go back and visit on school breaks. Wonderful daycare...I feel lucky my daughter was able to attend.
This was the first 'institutional' daycare that I brought my daughter , then 3, to. We were crazy about Miss Megan (now the director)! When I had my son, now 9 months old, they took him as soon as he was 6 weeks old. He was born with a cleft lip, and they were really great about feeding him, and didn't seem nervous about it at all. They are also pro breastfeeding. Actually, they are pro any kind of patent you want to be, which is great. They really let the parents dictate what they eat, how often, all that kind of stuff... Or not! If you want them to take the lead, that's fine too! I really can't say enough good things about this place!
The director is inappropriately, rude, & disrespectful to the staff, the children & the parents. I witnessed the oldest teacher throw a child across the hallway & disciplined my child by pinching his hand leaving marks. I took him to the doctor for a rash only to figure out later it was from her pinching him over & over for misbehaving. 2 year old children tend to misbehave, that is not how you teach a child to behave. I pulled my child out immediately & feel so sorry for the other children that still have to attend.
I do not have a child that goes here, but I was recently checking out local daycares and stopped in. I want to write this review to help moms who are looking for daycares and might not have time to go to as many as I did. I really got a great vibe from this daycare. The lady who showed me around was really sweet. I loved the combination of older women and younger women. You could feel the love for the children from all the ladies. I loved that I could still smell the homemade breakfast they had served. All the classrooms were spacious yet still had plenty of toys for them. Their outside playground area is really great looking and is fenced in. They are $118 a week plus $1 a week for each key issued to parents to allow them access to the building to drop off and pick up children. I got the vibe that you could have as many keys as you want...so if you had three keys it would be $121 a week. The only thing that I was not really thrilled about was the drearyness from lack of sunlight. It is in the basement of the church so you can't really expect much sunlight in there. All the children ate lunch together and had designated tables for their age group. I would recommend going to look at this place.
My son was just two when we started here. The staff is friendly, and take care of the children as if they were theirs. You have to use a key card to enter the building, and sign them in/out and who did so. it is not that drab down in the basement, its very well lit, and brightly painted. the price was about 121, plus the dollar door the key card. so i guess it went up. they operate 6a-6pm.
