What Parents Say
Moody Memorial First United Methodist Day School receives highly polarized reviews. Several parents praise the caring teachers, small class sizes, and clean facilities, reporting their children thrived there. However, other parents report serious concerns including racial profiling, inadequate security, high tuition with frequent increases, poor leadership, and teacher accountability issues.
Our daughter attended Moody Methodist Day School for about 2.5 years. We started her in the 2 to 3 year old class and only recently took her out as we were moving out of state. We absolutely loved the program at Moody, the teachers were wonderful and very caring and our daughter absolutely flourished during her time there. We'd highly recommend Moody to anyone looking for an excellent daycare in the Galveston area!
The best school in Galveston. I love this school and the teachers. I went from an all camera daycare to this one and it took a lot of trust putting her here. I was able to meet the teacher in a conference before her first day and was able to tell her all about my little one. My daughter loves it here! She doesn’t want to leave.
This school has been good for some people but my experience was bitter sweet. The teachers were very nice to the students but their wages were staggeringly low for the ridiculous amount of money it cost to have your child here. On top of high tuition it seemed every year they would require more money. They would constently increase tuition and than took away lunches for the kids and increased school supply and feild trip cost. The biggest problem was the school director. She was completly out of touch with how kids in real life act and would demonize a child if they swayed. Also security was non existent. Anyone could just walk in and grab a kid as long as the child recognized the person. I did however like all the activities and different classes the children got to experience. The building was very nice and clean as well and class sizes are small. In my opinion this school is geared towards upper class white families with exceptionally well behaved children. Not worth what you pay but if you can afford it i guess it doesnt matter.
This school is terrible school for children of color they racial profile you and treat your kids terrible my child was force to walk out the class room barefooted and they tried to make her walk out like that and when her socks were In her cubby then she tried to make it seem like I had a attitude but in reality I was not about to let my 2 year old child leave without nothing on her feet
This school is the best to learn irresponsibility. A teacher is a liar and to hide her mistake she blame my kid. I won’t forgive her and this school
