Brought my granddaughter to run on the treadmill. She had been asking to go to the gym to run. Mid afternoon so it wasn’t crowded. Lots of cardio machines, circuit machines and weight equipment. I think the machines were just a bit too crowded together. Place was clean and loved that you didn’t need a lock. Locks were built into the lockers.

terrible customer service ! if i could leave a zero star i would. if you can go to the southgate location i would recommend you do so. a woman named denise works at this location, an older woman who is VERY disrespectful. if you look at previous reviews about an older woman this is her. she is flat out rude to everyone who comes in ! i was not greeted and upon asking to check in was told she can kick me out of her building for not having my check in badge? kick me out for what? i then asked for whoever was above her, since she claimed she was a manager. a younger woman came up and acted like she would help but had the same attitude. she then left the desk with the younger woman LOUDLY disrespecting me and my family once again, and came back 5 minutes later trying to antagonize by saying she would leave a bad note on my account about me. her coworkers are great tried helping me after and agreed how disrespectful and rude she was, and even offered new badges to check in. Finally the director came up and denise suddenly wanted to apologize after her co worker told her she was wrong 😂. this is at 8pm on a week day so i understand everyone is tired and ready to go home but working in customer service you should have some self control and respect for your paying customers ! after all that i decided i will cancel my membership and take my business elsewhere. i will be filing a complaint with the highest up. this woman needs to be fired.

After months of reflection, I feel compelled to share our experience at this childcare institution—not out of bitterness, but out of a deep concern for the safety, dignity, and well-being of children and families who entrust their care to this facility. For nearly four years, my children attended this center. Initially, we had a positive rapport with the staff, and my children were generally well cared for. However, over time, troubling patterns began to emerge—patterns that no parent should have to witness or endure. We faced repeated incidents of racial remarks directed at my children by other children, with little to no meaningful intervention from staff. Staff behavior itself became increasingly inappropriate: rude comments, dismissive facial expressions, and a general lack of professionalism. On multiple occasions, I witnessed children wandering dangerously close to the main road on Elm Street—unsupervised—while staff appeared indifferent or overwhelmed. The facility was consistently understaffed, and the consequences were visible. I personally observed staff shouting at children, including those with disabilities, using language that was not only harsh but dehumanizing. There were instances of outright negligence—children left without supervision, staff making derogatory remarks about parents, including myself, labeling me a “helicopter parent” simply for being invested in my child’s care. The transition to a new director only exacerbated these issues. Despite claiming credentials in mental health, this individual failed to advocate for her staff, many of whom were visibly struggling with burnout, personal loss, and emotional exhaustion. Instead of fostering a supportive environment, she manipulated situations and deflected accountability. It’s no surprise that staff turnover was high and morale was low. One employee was reported to Child Protective Services—one of several reports that year. Another parent had to intervene when my child was nearly allowed to walk out the door unattended. When I brought this to HR’s attention, it was dismissed. The facility operated as if it were above the law, until licensing authorities like LARA and DCFS became involved. A particularly disturbing incident involved a staff member who behaved aggressively toward me in front of other parents, yanking a clipboard from another father’s hands and yelling at me about my son’s whereabouts. Those parents later expressed concern and confirmed that they, too, had witnessed troubling behavior. Shortly after voicing these concerns, I received a “no trespass” notice accusing me of “damaging the business.” But how can one damage a business that is already failing to uphold its most basic responsibilities? Favoritism among staff was rampant. Some families were allowed to accrue significant debt while others, like mine, were penalized for minor oversights—such as forgetting to register for a single week due to academic transitions. My children were left stranded at school, and yes, that too was reported to the state. This facility claims to be faith-based and Christian-led, but its actions reflect neither compassion nor integrity. If you are a parent seeking a nurturing, safe, and professionally run environment for your child, I urge you to look elsewhere. Your child deserves a place where staff are trained, supported, and held accountable—where mental health is prioritized, and diversity is respected. Let this be a call to action. We must demand better for our children. We must speak up when institutions fail them. And we must never settle for mediocrity when it comes to their care.

Swim classes were great! My daughter was able to be in a group class while my autistic son had a private class at the same time. Both can now swim on their own!
