My husband and I have been members of Canton First Baptist for 14 years. We know that this is where God would have us worship and serve our Lord and Savior. We are so proud to be members of a church that refuses to give in to the political correctness of our day. We know that when we enter God's house, we are going to hear a strong message that teaches God's truth that will be both encouraging and convicting. There is a special body of believers at my church home. The smiles, hugs and caring I feel when I walk in the door of our church makes it a very special place and I know the love of God is alive and well there. I love being in a place that wants to touch and serve the surrounding community and the world in any way we can and reach others with the message of God’s great love. I am extremely blessed to serve the children's ministry. It is so uplifting and fulfilling to watch the children learn and grow. It is also comforting to know that our church puts a priority on the safety and security of the children by doing background checks and having ongoing training for all the workers in our children's ministry. I am proud and blessed to be a member of Canton First Baptist in Canton Georgia and I can't wait to see what the Lord is going to do next!!
I like the messages that Pastor George has to relate to us straight from the Bible! None of the church light, make you feel good to go home and forget about what you heard at today's service. These are messages to motivate the congregation to have a deeper relationship with the Lord. I've been to all three services on Sunday morning and the message is the same for all three corporate worships. 8:15 is more a traditional service with music we all remember from the hymnals, 9:30 is an upbeat service with music represented from the modern day Christian stations (not "Contemporary") and 11:00 a blended service in its format that attracts all ages. Great place to broaden your faith and raise your kids!!! If you've not been invited, let this be your personal invitation to worship with us on Sunday morning then carry out the Great Commission through your work week!
This is the church I married my husband in. Pastor George did the ceremony and his gracious heart made it the most special day of my life. My 3 y o son goes to Mission Point Christian Academy and is growing into a man after God's heart. Pastor George was there when we dedicated our son to Christ. And although I have a weekend contract and cannot attend do to work, my husband and son have not missed a Sunday since my son was 6 months old. I've witnessed both of them grow spiritually. As a family we are Blessed to call First Baptist Church of Canton our home.
There are many things I love about my church family at First Baptist Canton. Here are a few: First, there is strong, unwavering adherence to the Word of God, in preaching, teaching and discipling. Second, there is a vision for sharing the love of Jesus Christ with our community, across town, across the country and around the world. Third, the fellowship found in Sunday School classes supports our family through rough seas and celebrates with us in times of great happiness. Fourth, our church is diverse in its styles of worship. Fifth, our church staff is dedicated and hard-working, always willing to help, visit, meet a need. I could go on and on. Suffice it to say no church is perfect, because it is filled with imperfect people (that would be all of us!). But, we love our First Baptist Canton church family!
I realized they do good in some areas, but this is on behalf of an elderly lady who feels abandoned by this church after being a long time member who made her contributions. It's difficult to believe that this current pastor and elderly leader "washed their hands" of this senior when she was most in need. They refused to return her calls and offer assistance when she truly needed it. It would have been nice if they offered to check on her now and then at the very least. They definitely don't walk the talk. She doesn't have access to a computer and therefore asked me to tell her true story.
