I really wanted this church to work out. Especially due to the kid programs and great music. After a few months, were not gaining anything from the messages. Thats keeping it polite.
Love my church, it’s only been a year but I’m glad to be in a Holy Spirit filled place with loving people and an amazing children’s worship.
Attended the youth ministry 17-18 years ago (Underone), left due to the hypocrisy that seemed to be rampant among the youth that was fueled by the adults there. A Good example was an event called Glove save, where what we called “screamo” music ( hardcore genre) was played and mosh pits were allowed. I left not being fulfilled in Christ and had little knowledge of Him after about a year. Fast forward to now, I went to the 11:00am service, this was my experience; from 11:00am to 11:40 was singing.. then a short 3-5 min talk about how we need to step back and let God love us.. then they went on to worship man through the glorification of war and education. I once again left without any hard knowledge. Now this is my opinion; We can worship through song on our own, I understand a few songs and love to sing for my Savior, but 40 minutes? Seems like a filler to me. The quick and soft message that the preacher portrayed was glorifying man. Who in this day and age is so strong in their faith that they have truly denied thy self , that they must step back and let God love them? I understand the concept, but sounds to be a little pleasing to mans ears and not much was delved into. I left at 11:50 am. The church staff had more interest in their phones than the “session” or what have you. Overall this “church” is more of a hangout for buddies and a place of self glorification. If you’re looking for structure and teaching on repentance and producing fruits of repentance, be weary. If only Paul was here to write more letters 🙏
It is a beautiful place with very kind people. I love the group conversations to learn English with Mrs.Joyce Silagy.
The sermon seemed wonderful and the music was nice. But do not come here if you want to keep your child with you in the sermon. We were indirectly asked to leave with my 2 year old who wasn't even close to raising a fit and was quite content. She was coloring on some paper and then using a coloring app on my phone and asked a few times to "switch colors" during the sermon when they approached us and essentially didn't leave our side or stop giving us options outside of the sermon area until we got up to leave. We were then followed out into the foyer and continously told how "child friendly" they were, just not if you want to keep your child near you.
