La Jolla Montessori is a warm environment where children are clearly happy and engaged. The teachers are constantly introducing creative and practical activities that keep the kids learning. The administration keeps thoughtful attention to each child’s unique needs, really going the extra mile to help every kiddo thrive. I've been visiting for years - couldn't recommend it more!

This school has been the most amazing space for my child to learn and grow. It feels incredibly safe and secure - and I am able to rest at ease knowing that my daughter is in wonderful hands. The teachers and staff are all incredibly supportive, communicative, and knowledgeable. They also work with low-income families and take outside subsidies, making it a very inclusive and accessible space for all. I highly recommend this school to anyone in the area that is looking for their child to have a rich Montessori education. As a mother who attends UCSD full-time, while also juggling a full time job, LJMS has helped provide me the support for our family to truly launch. My daughter has made incredible friends here, attended wonderful field trips, and has learned so much! It is clear that the teachers uphold the children to a high Montessori standard, while still being extremely warm and caring. The environment has been excellent for my daughter who has an incredibly active mind and wants to be involved in all aspects of learning. I have seen her blossom and bloom - and at 4.5 years old she is now incredibly independent. She has learned Spanish, how to sew, arithmetic, and so much more!

Our son started at LJMS when he was just 20 months old and continued until he was 3.5 years old. We had an absolutely amazing experience throughout his time there. He began in the Jellyfish classroom (Toddler Program) and settled in within just two weeks. We saw him become more independent and develop a love for singing and dancing with other kids. The transition to the Nautilus classroom (Primary Program) was remarkable -- his growth truly accelerated. He became more confident, and his interest in math and language blossomed. He also started to enjoy coloring and crafting much more. We've witnessed the love and strong bonds he developed with his teachers, which speaks volumes about the care and attention he received at LJMS. His first teachers, Ms. Andrea and Ms. Kristine, laid a strong foundation, and Ms. Cherie and Ms. America continued to support and nurture his development with great dedication. The Extended Day Program (EDP) and enrichment classes exposed him to many new interests , from cooking to soccer and Playball, all of which helped him grow in well-rounded ways. A special thanks to Ms. Heather, whose positivity and guidance helped us better understand the Montessori approach. She often went above and beyond to support us, and we are truly grateful. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks and best wishes to Ms. Heather and all the wonderful teachers at LJMS. Thank you for the incredible care, support, and love you've shown our son , we will always be grateful for this experience.

Enrolling my son in LJMS has been one of the best decisions we made for him. The teachers of LJMS provided my son the right start to his learning journey and took excellent care of him. He has grown so much since joining LJMS in many aspects and still continues to surprise us with the things he is learning every day from school. The toddler years can be challenging sometimes, and I was genuinely impressed by how thoughtfully the teachers handled difficult situations by involving the parents from the beginning and working with us to resolve any issues. Wishing Ms. Heather and the LJMS teachers the very best.

today will mark 10 years at MISD for our family. We have had 4 children go through the pre-school program at this school and it truly has been a gift. All my kids LOVE going to school and love to learn and I credit it to their early years in this program. I have seen the school evolve and grow and the staff is always open to communication from the parents. The bilingual environment is amazing and unique--worth driving a little extra distance for this place!!!!!!
