My son is 17 months and has been here for two weeks. So far it’s been a nightmare and to piggy back on what Tasha said (scroll down) it’s like they just quote rules out of a book. All Excuses and no accountability, while they apologized and seemed concerned they make no changes or hold themselves accountable for anything. The room floor was disgusting after they had New Year’s Day off, one staff member just refuses to speak at all, rude! And the food is trash, canned fruits at breakfast, the fruit liquid running through the plate bc they are using the very thin paper kind… soggy croissant bc they don’t separate nothing and they are using canned fruit….nothing is warm and hot dogs for lunch?!!!! The DM said “just like everywhere else we have supply chain issues, the trucks don’t bring the fruits in time so we have to substitute, you should have seen the adjusted menu posted in the lobby or on the door”. One excuse after another oh and “We are in compliance” The culture here is “off” and I really don’t see quality for what it cost here. I’m desperately looking to change centers. This one has a 2T Montessori program we wanted for our child and Ms. Robin in 3-4T room has a great reputation amongst daycare centers. Please do not come here! I feed my child breakfast before I take him just so that he has a healthy/fresh start to his day and I pick him up at 4:30 just so he’s not left with the younger girls who clearly do not have enough experience (That’s a whole other story). On top of all this, they are still accepting money orders and checks for payment (like what year is it?). If you are experiencing anything like this, make sure you go to the Virginia Department of Social Services and file a complaint. The children deserve better care.

My daughter attended this wonderful school since she was just 14 months old, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the love and care she received over the years. Jaylene, the director, and Christian, the assistant director, along with the entire staff, have always been incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional. They treated my daughter like family and made sure she was safe, happy, and learning every day. I always felt completely at ease leaving her there, knowing she was in such good hands. The environment is warm and nurturing, and it’s clear that the staff truly care about every child. I highly recommend this school to any parent looking for a safe, loving, and supportive place for their child to grow.

This school is amazing! Our 2 year old learned so much from beginning to end of his time in the Montessori program. His teachers were amazing, and loving. I never worried about him, and knew he was in good hands. The front office staff was also so accommodating and understanding when things came up that were out of our control. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a loving, nurturing and accommodating program for their little ones.

We've been with this daycare for many years and we couldn't be happier. Our child is always engaged in fun and educational activities. The staff and managers are great and they all communicate very well.

If I could give six stars, I would. My son has been attending School of Merit Doc Stone for over a year now and I’ve been SO happy with the great communication, the staff, management, and the program overall! My 8 year old daughter attends the summer camp which was so organized and fun. The facility is very clean and safe. There is ALWAYS someone in the front desk monitoring the door and cameras. I love receiving updates and pictures throughout the day from the school app. The teachers and staff make this place truly a wonderful place, especially Ms. Lauren and Ms. Robyn, they are AMAZING!! They are patient, loving and super engaging with the children. My son has learned so much since coming to Doc Stone and I’m confident he is more than ready for kindergarten. We will miss Doc Stone so much when we transitions.
