What Parents Say
Parents consistently praise Cadence Academy (note: reviews mention Cadence Academy, not the listed daycare name) for its caring, communicative staff and strong educational curriculum across all age groups. The center receives universal 5-star ratings with parents highlighting excellent teacher-child ratios, developmental progress, daily photo/app updates, and flexible accommodation of special needs.
My daughter has been attending Cadence Academy for a few months now. I am so impressed with the curriculum, which focuses heavily on interpersonal skills and creativity. The entire staff is so kind and consistent with their approaches. And when problems have been encountered, they have gone above and beyond to address and handle it. Special shout out to Program Director Sharice, to Claudia, Erin, Meddie, Tammy, and of course, miss Libby. You all are amazing and im so grateful my child gets to be a part of the program.
Our family was at this daycare for several years, but things have really gone downhill. There’s been nonstop staff turnover, teachers with little to no formal childcare experience, rude leader requiring “exact drop off time or children will be turned away” and a growing number of drop-in students that make it feel overcrowded and inconsistent. This is no longer a quality center. Parents should ask hard questions about staffing, training, and stability before trusting them with their children. I would encourage other parents to ask tough questions and pay attention to the red flags we missed.
We pulled our two children out last week. We trusted them with our children’s lives, and they completely shattered our trust in their discretion. We would never return or recommend them to another family. Our experience left us deeply disappointed and concerned. We stayed 3 years despite toilet issues, septic tanks, our daughter returning home with poop smears on her, underwear inside out, licensing issues, high turnover, new teachers showing up without any knowledge of who they are or what their background is, expired food certification cards, expired CPR or no training. Yet, we remained respectful of their challenges. Most families and teachers have left, and it appears they now accept drop-ins to stay full. Beware — their issues will become YOUR issues.
My son was in Ms. Meddie’s class. We did not have a good experience here at all. I took a while to create this review, because I wanted to give enough time to see how he progressed at his new school, which is night and day different. The environment is extremely chaotic. Anytime my husband or I went in the classroom it was a lot. There was hitting with toys with little to no ramifications. The teachers would just give up and move on if the other kid didn’t want to apologize. My son’s behavior at school and at home changed drastically. He was lashing out a lot, not in a good mood, we had to pick him up from the school on many occasions. My son has been in school since age 2, so this behavior was shocking to us. The reason why we switched to Cadence Academy was because his current school wasn’t offering full time for a period of time due to licensing. We did share his experiences at Cadence and they were also shocked by his behavior there. We ended up switching him back to his current school after 3.5 months because it was only getting worse. He is now back at his old school, and we have had zero complaints on his behavior. He is been at his school now for 3 months and he is a much happier kid. At home and at school. If your kid is sensitive to energy or chaotic environments, I wouldn’t recommend this daycare/school. We obviously weren’t in the classrooms, so we don’t know all of what was happening. Or how things were being handled. All I can say is the behavior of our son is night and day different and completely out of the norm when he was there.
Our daughter has attended Cadence Academy since 8 months old and she is currently 2 years. She has been in three different classrooms (classrooms change depending on age) and we have had an excellent experience in all three. The infant classroom has a small teacher to child ratio and we felt very comfortable with her in their care. Our daughter continues to reach her milestones after entering the 1-2 and 2-3 year old classrooms. The teachers are attentive, fun, personable, and all around a well-rounded bunch. They have daily schedules, academic-based activities, and learn age-appropriate skills. The director is doing her best to ensure that classrooms stay open due to the staffing shortage and the teachers continuously remain positive. Our daughter really enjoys going and we enjoy the app that goes along with it to let us know what they are doing each day. We highly recommend Cadence Academy.
