Merrifield Child Development Academy

We are very happy with our experience at MCDA. Our two boys (age 2 & 3) love their teachers and are being well socialized with peers and children of close ages. Our boys are constantly learning new words/phrases and skills - it's hard to keep up! The hours are conducive to our work schedules, and it's especially nice that they don't follow the Fairfax County Schools closure system (or they would be home every time we get 2" of snow!). We highly recommend MCDA!

The teachers are greatly committed and very loving. This is one school that closely follows good curriculum methods, teaching kids not only academically advanced skills but also important life skills. They stay away from rote memorization or abstraction. Rather the basics are taught using hands-on projects in subjects like Math, Science , Reading , Writing and Social studies and they lay a strong foundation for excelling at elementary school. They also have a convenient ,location and have flexibility to work with family schedules MCDA has great summer activities that kids enjoy and look forward to. They now have after school program with transport provided for nearby Elementary schools. They team up with families and provide a warm family based atmosphere. The directors and staff conduct regular conferences with parents and let them come in to watch their kids anytime they wish to and are always around to provide constant feedback and advice as needed. This is a place you should enroll your child for a safe, clean and early education center. we love MCDA.

Edited to add: We've now been with MCDA almost two years and love it just as much now as we did when we started. We just started at MCDA about a month ago and it has been an absolutely wonderful experience. Right now they are in summer "camp" and everyday the kids are doing something new and fun. I LOVE how they do educational activities and there is a structure to the day- it's not just a babysitting service (like the other highly-recommended much pricier daycare we were going to)! I am so so so happy we made the switch. I can tell by the way my child acts that she is so much happier at MCDA also. The teachers truly seem to enjoy teaching and loving the children. HIGHLY recommended.

I recommend MCDA to all parents out there who are looking for a safe, friendly and comforting environment for your children. My children have been attending MCDA since June 2014 and its been a wonderful experience for them and myself. Teachers are great and the Director is awesome. Their daily curriculum is excellent Thank you very much MDCA! The Best!!

This is a wonderful school with amazing, dedicated teachers. We have a five- and two-year-old who have been enrolled since August. Virtual kindergarten for my five-year-old isn’t a practical or viable option for us and the school has been helping her meet all her educational milestones. I highly recommend this school.
