What Parents Say
Merriday School receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from most parents, with particular praise for staff stability, nurturing care, and family-like atmosphere. However, two negative reviews cite organizational issues, staff communication problems, and concerns about infant care practices.
My son has gone to Merriday since he was 5 months old and he is now 2 yrs old. I am VERY happy with this school the teachers in the baby room always shower the kids with love like they were their own. He is now in the 2yr old room and every morning he runs to the teachers (who have been there for 15 plus years) to give them a hug. He is always happy to go to school and has learned so much since he has been there. The teachers and director are great people!
My son has been attending Merriday for about a year and I could have not imagined I would ever feel as comfortable as I do leaving my child at daycare. The thing that I love most about Merriday is that they are like a family. There is close to zero turnover within their staff. Which means a lot to me since it's scary at other not knowing who's coming in and out of the school and taking care of your child. I know a long list of kids that have gone through Merriday and are now 11 & 8 years old and had the same teachers that my 2 year old now has. It gives me a great deal of peace to know he's in such good hands. Thank you Merriday.
Our son has been here since he was about 3 months old and is now 8 months old. He loves the teachers in the baby room. He just lights up when we get there. I don't have to worry about him crying when I close the door behind me. When I had a small issue with how an employee handled something, the director addressed it immediately. They treat you and your child like family and make sure you are happy. I highly recommend this daycare.
This is an absolutely wonderful daycare, very nurturing, experienced staff that love and learn your kids like they're their own, very well structured, individualized care, and the buildings are designed/structured for their appropriate age groups. The baby/toddler room is absolutely amazing. And they were GREAT with my older special needs child (ADHD among other things), unlike other daycares he's been to. I would recommend this daycare to anyone. I really regret they can't attend any more due to moving. We all miss this daycare tremendously. <3 I should add one thing that is a negative about this daycare, though (unfortunately) - phone communication. It's almost impossible to call the main office number and have someone pick up the phone. A lot of times a fax machine picks up. They really need to move the fax to another line so VM picks up at least....
My daughter started this daycare at the age of 2. They were awesome helping with the potty training! She is 3 years old currently finishing the pre-k class and can write her name thanks to the teacher at school and sending homework 4 nights a week! She is very happy and loves going to school!
