What Parents Say
The reviews provided do not appear to be from parents about the daycare center Maria de la Cruz. Instead, they are tourist reviews of Parque Histórico Cueva María de la Cruz, a historical cave park in Loiza, Puerto Rico. No actual daycare reviews are available to summarize.
It's amazing to think that at one time this was the ocean floor! One interesting thing was to look at the strange hives that the bees had created at the top of the caves!
Fascinating place with lots of history, but you would drive right by or not know anything about it unless you found a tour (and they don't seem to be advertised). Apparently you are also supposed to pay to enter. Be quiet inside the cave, there are many beehives and they will buzz down to protect the hive. One of the cave entries was closed due to an unsafe bridge and stairs into it. Maintenance crews were on-site and working hard to clear branches and such.
The entire tour is about 15 minutes but you can get a peak into history as you look at these underworld caves that are made of Sea Coral that you would have never expected to see above land. This is one of these hidden gems that allows you to experience the enormity of our world and the vastness of our history right here in our literal backyard in Loíza.
Parque Histórico Cueva María de la Cruz was the home of the first inhabitant in the island: "arcaicos" more than one thousand years ago. Entrance only for $2.00. Is a versatile place to enjoy nature, fresh air, natural cave with maritime archeological evidence. The places have around three caves; two small and one bigger, where you would see metamorphic rocks, natural water from the roof, humidity, appreciate the ecosystems: bees, some spider print, rocks, nature, dragón fruto in the high roof. Other place facilities have the park; play yard, stores, restroom, parking lot, natural honey products, wheelchair ramp for some areas. Near Loiza downtown, schools, hospitals, fast food, gas stations among others.
First time visiting the place. It's a small area, but it had gazebos, benches, bathrooms. Beautiful weather today, sunny and no clouds in sight. The lady in yellow is the mayor of Loiza's municipality. Very nice and approachable person.
