What Parents Say
Margaret P. Muscarelle Child Development Center receives highly polarized reviews. The majority of parents praise the facility's educational curriculum, well-trained staff, and individualized attention to children's needs. However, a small number of parents report serious concerns including neglect, unexplained injuries, and failure to follow care instructions.
Great Daycare Center! I finally found a place for my child that he's taken care of the same way I would.
Horrible place for kids. My child had numerous incidents of being neglected, has come home with all kinds of bruises on his arms and legs that nobody at the day care seemed to know how he got. My wife witnessed the prek 2 teacher walking around and kicking the kids awake from their nap. We called investigators who said after an internal investigation they cannot find the day care liable. Moved my child to a much better place, and he still refers to his old class pictures as "that's me at that horrible school" ... Absolutely heartbreaking.
TERRIBLE experience with my 9 month old infant! Honestly if you have a baby and are thinking of putting your baby in this facility BEWARE I would honestly think twice about it! Three different incidents happened while I had my baby enrolled here for 3 weeks only! First incident: coming home with a different diaper that was not his! Even after we had made sure he had enough diapers of his own! Second incident: not following directions to his food/sleep schedule they pretty much did whatever they pleased and what was more convinient for them! They made it seem like they were completely overwhelmed, when receiving the daily report of what was done with my child everything was written all messy/rushed. The last incident which blew my mind away was that the teachers NEVER fed him his last bottle of the day, this was the last straw for me. An infants first priority in the first 12 months of life is MILK! It's ridiculous how they run the "infant room" which isn't even a infant room because they have older children in there! I honestly thought better about this school but I was completely wrong! It might be a terrific school for older children (children whom actually talk and can say what is going on) but definitely not a place for an infant!!!!!!
I had a child in MPM from infant to 4 years old, this year is her last year. I can say it is one of the best schools/daycares around here. I say school, because they actually TEACH. How to feed themselves, walking, potty training, letters, numbers, colors…the list goes on. So many daycares just let your child play all day, with no prep for public school. I recommended this place to every one of my friends in need of a daycare and each one of them has had a great experience.
My 4.5 year old has been going to this school for about a year now. The facility is good and the teachers are well trained. My kid suffered from separation anxiety and initially would cry to go to school each morning. Her teacher Miss Rita observed her behavior at school and sat with us to discuss a plan of action. Her support and encouragement helped my child cope with her anxiety. She is now a very happy kid. As a mother I would like to thank the school and especially miss Rita for being so wonderful.
