I don’t write this lightly. This is an honest review of a deeply disappointing experience—both in attempting to attend this church and in seeking care for our son in its daycare program. When I first approached this church, I was surprised by how much availability they had. Now I understand why. It became clear that only certain children are welcome here—those who fit a polished, convenient mold. Children with disabilities apparently do not. I want to remind this church of Scripture—specifically Mark 9:42, Matthew 19:14, and Proverbs 24:11. You can be a large, impressive church. You can run efficient programs and a strong business model. But when the culture begins to outweigh Scripture—when children with special needs are excluded because they are inconvenient or don’t fit the brand—something has gone very wrong. This is how church hurt happens. You may face no consequences in the flesh, but Jesus sees. And He is clear about how we are to treat children—all children. I prayed deeply for discernment before posting this. I don’t want to hurt anyone. But silence allows misalignment to continue. Leadership, mission, and core values must actually line up with what is proclaimed from the pulpit. From our experience, they did not. What makes this even more troubling is that this church has a designated special-needs room—yet it goes unused. Instead, I was made to feel like the problem. Like my son was a liability. Like his disability would somehow harm the other children. This isn’t about what happened—it’s about what could have happened. I was not treated with dignity. I felt like an outsider in a place that claims to welcome all. My son is not perfect, and there was a freak accident. In that moment, what I needed as a parent was empathy and reassurance. What I experienced instead was fear, anxiety, and overwhelming shame. Guilt became the only response offered. No child is perfect. That includes every child in your care. What saddens me most is that this was a moment to minister—to parents who were scared, to a family who needed grace. Instead of compassion, the opportunity was lost. I had every intention of attending this church regularly. But when the preschool would not accept my son, it raised a painful question: if the church cannot receive him, how could the church receive us? That moment could have reflected Christ. Instead, it became a barrier. To this church, I may be labeled the issue—the “disease,” the difficult parent with a disabled child. But the real issue is when the Church forgets who Jesus consistently defended, welcomed, and warned us not to push aside. I pray this church listens. Because this was not Christlike—and it was not okay. Matthew 18:10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.” Matthew 19:14 “Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’” Proverbs 24:11 “Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.” Isaiah 1:17 “Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless.” Psalm 127:3 “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” Mark 9:42 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.”

It is a great Church with many different ministries. For example, children's, music, special needs, recovery, food pantry, women's, men's, etc. It is a great place to worship God by serving, teaching, music, singing, etc. It has a great pastoral staff that teach from the word of God. Also, they have friendly Church members that greet people upon arrival and departure.
