What Parents Say
Magic Garden receives overwhelmingly positive reviews, with parents praising the caring and experienced staff, enrichment programs, and well-maintained facilities. One parent reported a negative experience with a specific teacher in the youngest classroom, citing insensitive behavior and poor conflict resolution. Overall, parents describe it as a special place that prepares children well for kindergarten.
Best staff ever! They are kind & patient and care so much for each child. I work upstairs in the same building and hear happy sounds through open windows; they’re always singing, playing and laughing with the children. It constantly puts a smile on my face! I would recommend them to anyone who wants a place where staff will truly know and care about their children.
We love Magic Garden. We sent our two daughters to the school, and all of the teachers and staff are amazing. They are like a second family to us. The teachers are kind, creative, and encouraging. There are many extracurricular activities, such as swimming, tumbling, and Spanish. The children also go on field trips to the library and deCordova. They play outside nearly every day, and have many classroom projects and activities. My girls could not have been happier at the school and I trusted everyone there without hesitation. It is a wonderful place and we are glad that Magic Garden has been part of our lives.
This is a very special place. The teachers are experienced, very well-educated, caring and patient. The classrooms are bright, clean and organized. Located on Ballfield Road in a corner of the idyllic Lincoln Schools campus, Magic Garden has access to several playgrounds, trails and fields. The enrichment programs are fantastic. Our kids have visited the library, Codman Farm and de Cordova and have taken Spanish, tumbling, fitness, and swimming (at the Town pool in the summer and BSC in the winter, all through Magic Garden). They come home with amazing art projects and reports of all the great things they are learning. The parents are involved and the school is well run. We love it! Our oldest just graduated to kindergarten and is ready and well-prepared.
Magic Garden checks all the boxes for what you want in a preschool: caring and engaged faculty who really know and love your child and her or his quirks; roomy, bright, well-equipped facilities with four playgrounds; walking field trips to a farm, the fire house, the post office, an art museum, the library; up-to-date curriculum that prepares children well for kindergarten without making preschool an academic grind; a full-time on-site behavioral specialist; staffing ratios higher than the state requires; full-day and full-year programming for working families; a great sense of community among the parents. I could go on and on. We were so lucky to have Magic Garden right in town for our two sons. They--and we--loved it.
I have given this center one star because I sent my daughter through the program and we have an average experience. I would have given it negative stars if I could because of my second experience with my son. One teacher in particular in the youngest classroom, "rainbow" has a horribly insensitive personality where she is subtly emotionaly abusing children. She is not good with resolving conflict between children or between herself and children. I would caution you. I tried on multiple accounts to help the center improve, but they were not responsive.
